We have a Wii and a XBOX 360 and no PS3 in my house also . We have 2 BD players (one HTPC and one standalone) Just because you have blu doesn't mean you have to have a PS3

I,ve never had or really never heard an Onkyo reciever.
But i have read alot of threads on Onkyo and i personally i find that alot of Onkyo owners go with Klispch speakers.

There's got to be a reason for this so i would direct you to Klispch.
From what i have read and heard Klispch speakers and Onkyo recievers Work very well together.Try them out,What do you got to lose.

Good luck Brother

I do have a PS3... but have really only used it for blu-ray. But my Wii and my 2 360's get regular gaming work out.

I'm going to go polk for now. If I am going Klispch I will go all out. I am just 19 yr old college student and I don't make that much. Maybe in 2 years or so but the polk m20s are preforming good so far.

See what a full blown home cinema sounds like - use that experience as a reference and then look at my budget - find several good brands, demo them, and then buy the ones that sound closest to my highend reference.
I have found that the speaker selection at BB is not very good. I will be going to a specialty video store to buy the speakers for my system. I can't imagine a setup that will do justice to the new lossless sound for less than$1200.

I am in the process of moving my speakers from one HDTV to another and noticed that you have the same Yamaha receiver/amplifier that I just bought. Is it the correct connections to connect an optical cable from the audio out on the TV to the amp and from the HDMI on the TV to the 3rd HDMI connector on the amp?

I also wanted to know if the #1 HDMI connector on the amp should be the one that goes to my Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player. This seems to be how the system at Best Buy was hooked up, but I would like some input from someone who has done the setup them self.

Looks like I was wrong about Best Buy and their speaker selection. I need to hold off on the speaker purchase for a bit, but it looks like Best Buy should in fact have what I want.

I have moved about $2100 worth of speakers from my 65 inch rear projection 1080i HDTV to my 52 inch 1080P LCD.

The new HDTV is a Sharp Aquos LC-52D85U and it will soon be connected to a Yamaha RX-V663 AV Receiver. The Blu-ray player is a Sony BDP-S350.

Edit: I have it all hooked up, but my left front speaker is dead. It is always something. Looks like it will be time to take this speaker apart and see if I can isolate the problem. Bose quit making the 10.2 Series 2 tower speaker a long time ago, so a repair is what I will do. The cabinet looks perfect, so I am not about to just throw it away. May have to go buy a new front pair for the new system and repair this speaker to go back on the old HDTV.
