Kind of off topic, but hey, it's already gone that way, hasn't it? I just watched all six of the Star Wars movies in the last couple of weeks. Compared to the original trilogy, the special effects in the prequel trilogy are not holding up well at all. Some of them are blatantly awful.

lol thats what I was thinking while watching Episode One for the first time in years. So much of that movie is just god awful. Other than the effects, the acting is pretty bad in its own right.

Don't like the movies?

Don't post in a thread about them.

There, was that too hard for you?

i dont think anyone is saying they absolutely hate them (at least i'm not), just certain aspects of them. plus should a thread about a movie mean only people that like it be able to post? i think as long as people are respectful it makes sense to debate if people think something is good or not. this forum would get boring if everyone just agreed with each other

I don't mind if they don't like Star Wars, it make's for a conversation. I love Star Wars and I am far from being objective on the subject but I can understand if someone won't like them....ok ok not really understand but can accept it at least

I have no beef at all when a thread is asking for opinions about the movies, this thread didn't do that.

Ah well, I guess they need somewhere to post between posts at Moviepoopchute.com.

good point, i looked back at the OPs question and realized the posts had gotten off topic. someone should start a mega star wars thread. that would get chaotic in about 5 minutes.

back to topic, think what the OP is thinking of is a longer final fight scene, which would obviously extend the entire movie. as for other deleted scenes (besides the ones on the bonus features), i hadn't heard of any.

Ironically you've posted nothing having to do with this thread OR Star Wars.

Googling around, there's not a whole lot of info that I found about an extended or "original" cut of ROTS. The only thing I really found was an "extended edition" on the torrent sites that appears to just be the deleted scenes that someone as reincorporated into the film. I would love to see a longer fight between Obi Wan and Anakin. I thought it was kind of anticlimactic (kinda felt that way about the whole prequel trilogy, really), and wasn't quite the explosive moment that I was expecting.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0121766/trivia :

"The original cut of the film ran nearly four hours. The opening battle/Palpatine rescue alone ran over an hour."

"Liam Neeson has said that he recorded a cameo as Qui-Gonn Jinn, which was to feature in a scene with Yoda, further explaining the concept of a Jedi communicating from beyond the grave. In the script, the dialog (in which Qui-Gonn is heard, not seen) appeared in the scene in which Yoda is meditating on the secret asteroid base just before Bail Organa informs him of Obi-Wan's return with Padme. The scene does not appear in the deleted scenes section of the DVD, nor does it appear in any known release of the film."

I knew I remembered reading something about Qui-Gonn having a cameo. Thanks!

Any scene with Liam Neeson would make it a better movie.

Who cares? George Lucas and Hayden Christensen RAPED Anakin Skywalker and the Star Wars saga with these prequels. "BOO HOO HOO the mean sand people killed my mommy, now I'm going to kill every one else."

We used to say the same things in the 80's.

Long before the internet gossip site, we had heard about lost footage of Jabba in the First film and whoa...he was a human???

So...years went by and we all got our wish...and it sucked.

I have learned my lesson.

I'm happy with what we have.

Maybe I'm not remembering something correctly, but when was Jabba a human?

You know what I do love all 6 movies, the original saga is obviously better. Oh and I completely agree with you on them being too CGI heavy. HOWEVER I felt they provided a better backstory for the originals and expanded on them even more. Oh and it showed everyone how big a badass obi-wan was.

He was originally filmed in a convo with Han as a Human then it got cut. In the special editions they super imposed a Jabba over the human actor. I think you see the actor that was originally to play Jabba in the extras.

True that. I belive reading sometime ago that something that wasn't ever put into the film was the beginning of the rebel alliance. Also I would have loved for them to extend the beginning rescue scene (and hopefully the fight with count Dooku as well).
