Just because it's about the same character doesn't make it a good novel. There are a lot of bad Conan novels out there but a lot of good Robert E Howard novels, for example.

Also... how the hell can you judge it when it hasn't even hit a final script yet? I swear, there are more armchair film professionals on this forum than there are movie-lovers. Have some patience and give it a chance.

A totally unrelated book written by the same author.

To be honest with you, I LOVED the Parsifal Mosaic. This could really, REALLY work! I'll continue to hope for the best.

And as a previous poster also mentioned, the Bourne movies and books were very different from one another. Especially "The Bourne Ultimatum." Carlos the Jackal had long since been ttaken care of between the time the books were published and when the movie was produced. Also, obviously, Marie's existence.
