I've read article, after article, after review, after comment, etc. and it seems to boil down to that EVERY version, Discovery, WB/BBC & BBC are all 1080p. The box has 1080i listed to cover the companies legally b/c the extra content is 1080i. Also, supposedly the BBC version is substantially longer; while the U.S. version cuts out scenes due to the commercials during the originally TV airing of the series. However, the Discovery version includes the making of diaries/"Future" trilogy content that is not included in the UK BBC release. Do NOT quote me on any of this, as there are more opinions/theories than there is tea in China... |

I ordered one as well. It did not recognize my US Amazon log-in information. I had to prepare it so they are now the same however. I look forward to receiving this and great that is region free. The conversion from British Pounds to US dollars worked out to be only $37.82 shipped.

The Discovery Planet Earth version is NOT 1080p. It's 1080i. I should know, I own it (got it for free). My tv is capable of 1080p, and any other 1080p blu ray that I place in the player, properly displays the info of 1080p. I just ordered the Amazon UK version since it was so dirt cheap, and I'm certain it will display as 1080p. The official word is that it says 1080i on the UK version because the bonus disc is 1080i, and it was a matter of covering themselves legally. Otherwise the UK BBC Planet Earth version is 1080p. |

Just wanted to say thank you to the OP for posting this. Probably one of the best purchases I've made this holiday season. Jubi Jubilee!

Just wanted to say 'thanks' to the OP. This is my first time going for a disk set outside of my region, and considering it's the Planet Earth Blu-Ray box set and for less than $40.00 U.S., that's an excellent deal.
Here's hoping all works out with the international shipping and all. ![]() |

![]() Just use a currency calculator www.xe.com/ucc/ and don't forget about the cc fees http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/cc/20050624b1.asp That should give you a pretty accurate estimate. Of course it all depends on the x-change rate on the day the transaction actually occurs. |
