sorry to ask a stupid question but since this is being imported form germany, will the blu-ray still work on a ps3 that was bought in canada and will the disc be in english or german ?

True. But they better hurry up.

The problem is that, because it's so old, Criterion may not have an HD master made of the film.

I have the Criterion Collection of TRAFFIC and it says "2002" on the back, so they released it only 6 years ago (almost 7 now), so Hopefully they'll do the BD version. And as someone noted, the grainy look (mostly the Mexico scenes I recall) were done purposely, (Disc 2: The Supplements - "Film Processing Demonstration: Achieving the look of the Mexico sequences").

Love this movie!

I would assume that the contract would be 10-15-20 years...but I have no evidence to support that. Just a theory. Let's hope.

Again, it depends on how long they've been doing HD masters and how well they were done.
