Well for a start i was to young when DVD first came out to buy into straight away.

Second it's just a lot better movie experienced than any other format has offered.

My goal is to own a lot of movies in the best quality possible.

Well my initial goal was to replace my collection first but so far I've only upgraded about 11 DVD's the rest are all new releases.

I still have about 30 more blu's that I MUST OWN and upgrade.
And then there's whatever other new releases come out.

I also will never buy another DVD. I haven't purchased one in well over a year as it is. For me, new releases are top priority. I will only double dip unless I'm getting a good deal. Plus, there is a very good chance that BD will be the last physical format we see.

My goal is to ultimately convert my DVD collection with Blu-Rays along with getting new titles on Blu. The only time I'll be getting regular DVD's is when it's a DVD only release.

A bit of both for me. Slowly switching over my DVDs to Blu-rays and getting films I've always wanted that are now on Blu.

I intend to replace some DVDs particularly those that I like or have outstanding PQ and/or AQ. Everything else is purchased as new Blu-ray disks.

For almost a year I have started to replace all my DVD's wiht their BETTER Blu-ray cousin . I've even made a list of title I won already that are out on Blu and ones that aren't available yet. So far there is only about 10-15 titles I have on DVD that aren't out yet on Blu. All the rest I keep a list of and the date that they do come out so that I can keep an eye out for. But after that, I REFUSE to by Blu any more. I just don't see the point in buying an inferior product . And also at the same point buying the new movies as they come out as well. Can't wait to get Dark Knight, Hancock, and Wanted. Just to name a few. However I will only buy movies that I know for a fact that I will ENJOY watching more then once. Other then that I will just rent it (on blu of course).

I just buy what I want to see and don't think of if I have them on DVD or not. I haven't even opened my DVD cabinet in a couple months other then to pull them all out of it recently. I've got them stacked up in a corner right now collecting dust. The only things in there that I will watch are TV shows that haven't made it to Blu yet.

I never had a large collection of DVDs, I hadn't ever really bought that many. I haven't bought a DVD for a long time either, even before I got my PS3 a month before signing up for this site.

For me it is Blu-ray or nothing. I can't stand watching SD TV let alone a DVD lol.

Talking Blu Ray is great...

...but I am not replacing my DVD collection, unless I find a really good deal on the Blu-Ray version. (Ex: I picked up Terminator 2 and Twister on BD today for $7.99 each!!) I still buy DVD's too, but won't pay more than $5 for one.

I am so impressed with the DVD quality on my upconverting BD player that I see no reason to double dip, unless it's one of my favorite movies.

What I am replacing are my Laserdiscs, since they right now are just sitting around collecting dust. Eventually, I will get around to framing and hanging my favorite lasers.

The reason I am limiting what I purchase on BD is because I believe the wave of the future is streaming of HD video via the internet. Netflix has an HD ready terminal that you can watch their movies right on your TV. It's going to be really cool to just sit down and watch whatever you want whenever you want without having to purchase a disc!!!

THAT'S the wave of the future guys!
