I read some other thread about Blockbuster monthy deals... so... the thing is unadvertised... and even the employee doesn't know about it ? Because I just called mine and the guys didn't know anything and he even ask his manager and it was the same thing... so do I have only to show up on the 6th... and the price of Hitman will be 9.99$ on the cash ?

correct.
the employees don't even know. i can confirm this. when i went to get killl bill they thought i was joking. then they scanned it and poof. 9.99.
ymmv with selection. these go fast.

well.. actually the managers recieve monthly promotion planner flyers during the 3rd or 4th week of a month to outline next months promotions. hitman was at the top of the list for the blu-ray sale title. and yes unfortunatly not all store managers are too good with keeping their staff up on the latest price changes n promos. but as long as the customer knows. thats the most imp part. and thats what i'm trying to accomplish.

Simple thing to do is just call and ask how much they're selling that title for, and they look it up and you get to enjoy their stunned reactions when they see $9.99 come up

... and then make sure you get them to hold a copy because those promo titles are usually in short supply and the employees will snatch it up because you alerted them to it.

I went to Blockbuster and asked if they had Hitman in stock. What was surprising was that all the Blu-rays that were under $29 were all gone and everything on their Blu-ray section were all $34.99.

I was like...what the hell...where did everything go, because I wanted to find "Hitman".

Then the manager says that he has a special for Blu-ray's and it's all in this big bucket. And just a lot of Blu-rays that I find cheaper online or other stores and at BB they are at $24.99 - $29.99. I was asking, where the sale was and he was like...right there, what you are looking at.

I said, priced as is? Manager was like yeah, priced as is.

Before I rant about Blockbuster, I know the people there are just working their to pay the bills and I admit, I went there for years for great deals on video games or the pre-reviewed movies but sometimes I wonder if the employees even cared about Blu-rays or even the pricing.

The manager was, in his mind, really believing that all those Blu-rays in that bucket for $24.99 or $29.99 were great deals. Granted, I would like to think its just this manager but sometimes I wonder if corporate tells managers and employees that in regards to their Blu-rays despite being overpriced, to be excited and enthusiastic and make the customer feel that these are great prices. This reminded me of the Tower Records during the LD and beginning of the DVD years.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. And after going through that bucket full of their "great deals", there was nothing under $20. No "Hitman"...nada...

Keep in mind that the last few $9.99 deals on BD's had prices LOWER than the sticker price.

hey moneyshot, i just looked up what the other 3 titles for $9.99 are goind to be this month and no word yet, the monthly flyer did however outline titles that will be on sale during the month of jan, Grindhouse:Planet Terror & Deathproof for $17.99 each (reg 29.99 each). Other titles on sale include Hostage + From Dusk till Dawn also at 17.99each and finally King Kong $21.99 (reg 29.99). hope this helps. as soon as i come across more $9.99 titles reduction i'll let you guys know.

After waiting patiently for TDK during the 2/$30 PV Deal, I finally managed to score a copy today. The manager said the sale was over, but they still had the signs posted.....so along with TDK, I picked up Spiderman3 for $30. I also picked up HITMAN for $9.99

I know what I'll be doing tonight! But first I gotta get me some more popcorn!

Good buy on the Spider man 3 and TDK dude. I also got TDK at Block Buster, but I was hoping to get Wanted and they didn't have it! So I didn't get the 2 for $30 deal. $20 for TDK in close to mint condition is still a good catch if you ask me. They had Pirates of the Caribbean 3, but I'm waiting to buy the trilogy instead.

Somebody already said that those sales are not good in Quebec. But I don't know why, well it's clearly discrimination. We should do something about it, black mail head office or something

aww...cammon danV, cant help but be a little upset on my part to hear you doubting my post. its ok thou, wont take it personally... just picked up my copy from the ajax store today who started off with 10 copies and by the time i got in at 1pm they only had 2 left in stock. gotta act fast guys, the store will be getting another 5 copies once they sell out, but one should still avoid waiting till its too late. happy hunting!!!
