What's wrong with Bose? Stop hating. Surely way better than the home theater in a box systems.

Same argument can then be made for Pioneer TVs. Slightly better but a whole lot more expensive. I am not that much of a sound buff so this works for me...why are people ripping me for having it in my signature though? I see others with Philips, Sanyo etc. TVs in their signatures yet no one says anything to them? Sorry kind of new to the forum so don't know whats the trend around here.

If you feel the need to zoom with a 46" display, get a larger one! There isn't very much we can do with the aspect ratio on BDs!

Because... to put it bluntly... it comes off as uninformed. Plasma and LCD tv's are both here to stay. Many feel that Plasma is a better display technology. I'm a Philips owner- not the best set but sometimes budget constraints force us away from what we feel is best to what we can afford. However, there's a difference between owning a product that's not top-end and believing that your product is top-end just because you spent a lot of money on it.

I'm not going to jump on the Bose bandwagon- JasonR's already provided you with the links as to why folks don't like Bose. (Ok, I lied. I will a little.) You end up paying 2-3x more for what I feel is no improvement in quality over most HTiB systems. For the money you spent, you could easily have a very nice receiver and speaker system that will blow away the muddy Bose system.

Anyway... XBR's are great sets. No one is disputing that. But to say that it'll beat a plasma is like running into the PS3 forum and saying that the Xbox 360 is the best console ever made. You're just setting off a powderkeg.

They have a terrible reputation in the AV industry for one thing.
