It is fare. Why should I, who bought the game on day 1, not be rewarded against someone who waited and got the game when it was 15 bucks. If I pay 2 or 4X the money I deserve something...

I sooooo want a Nariko costume! I have GOW, MGS, SF and animal costumes, MGS level pack or PSN games.

How safe is it to share though? Will bank/CC account info be available when others use PSN accounts to share? Can someone who has done this before please give me more info??

you would remove that info and change your password to something like abc123 before you did said activity. But IF anyone wants to do that you should take it to PMs so the thread isn't closed.

You will want to make sure that you put a password on the account and make sure that it asks you for that password on every transaction. That should be a safe way of proceeding. HOWEVER!!! You must also realize that there will need to be communication between anyone you share your account with. If they want to use your content, it will have to be a general agreement. Both of you won't be able to be signed into the same account at the same time. THIS is the main reason why I avoid sharing my account with anyone. I don't want to be in a situation where I want to go online and play and be forced to find something else to do because another person is using my account. That would ROYALLY PISS ME OFF!

That's COMPLETELY inaccurate. I have my PSN on my brothers account. He downloaded my games and plays them on HIS OWN account. I can delete my account from his PS3 and HE can STILL play the games and so can I. The games are on the SYSTEM... NOT the account once downloaded.

Like I said. Take your credit card out. Then change the password to abc123. Then trade. Then when all is done change the password back and the person can NEVER access your account again. Then feel free to reinsert your credit card and know that your account is USELESS to them because they CANNOT log into your PSN anymore.

My understanding was that your downloads are only accessible via your specific PSN ID account. I could very easily be wrong though as I've never experienced this. I have only ever had one account on my PS3 and don't plan on ever letting another account be generated.

Regardless, I'm not into the notion of giving anyone else access to my 150+ downloaded Rock Band songs, PSN games, costumes, and plethora of other content which I've downloaded just in order to get my hands on 1 costume. I'd rather save my limited 5 downloads per item purchased in case of system problems with my PS3.

ok, i've acquired a GoW LBP code. big thanks to the party responsible...

i will go back to town first thing in the morning and test the code .
i'm very excited altogether because my copy of LBP is still in its plastic wrap.

also, what i do w/ my friend and vice versa is that we have each others' log in info and pw saved, i call her and tell her i bought a new game, or just the same she calls me to tell me she bought a new game, and i log in to her PSN ID, start the DL, put it in the background, pause it, and sign back onto my account and finish the DL.

if any kind fo transfer is to be done with PSN one would need no more than 30 seconds to start the DL they need.

I don't mean to keep the taboo talk going, but jamclaur is right... I think. Once you download stuff from someone's account, you never need to log into their account again. However, you should still leave a user account set up on your PS3, from when you downloaded the content.

For example:

Jim and Bob are brothers with separate PS3's, but want to share their content with each other. Jim creates a new user account on his XMB called "BobbyXMB" and uses's Bob's PSN ID "BobinatorPSN" to log into the store.

What I noticed is that after Jim installs Bob's stuff, if he deletes the "BobbyXMB" user name from his XMB, it seems some of the stuff will no longer work. This includes RB songs, as well as some other small PSN games (like Calling All Cars).

To take care of this, the simple solution is for Jim to never delete the BobbyXMB account. However, it's worth noting that Jim NEVER has to log into Bobbinator on PSN again, to play the content.

Why it works this way, I have no idea.

Some stuff will still work fine, even if Jim deletes BobbyXMB, but some stuff won't. It can be annoying to build up a bunch of XMB accounts, but if I were Jim, I'd just set my personal XMB account to the auto-login, so that whenever I turn my PS3 on, it just loads up my account, and I forget the others even exist.

That being said, I AM IN NO WAY CONDONING SHARING GAMES.

Yea Petra, u were totally mis guided by sharing there are SOME games (mainly the $30 and over games, like WarHawk) that have a "24 hr lock out" between the accounts they are shared with but other than that every game on the PSN is shareable.

And about the "5 per account", has anyone every tested that out, really? I think it's just made up. I've never been denied a download off someone's account and I KNOW I shared the HOME BETA with more than five (at least 12) and they all reported back to me a successful transfer. Same with LBP costumes.

Ya, well... I've come to terms a long time ago with the fact that I am only human. I may not be perfect, but I do consider myself nearly perfect. LOL

I can see them not really putting a restriction on anything classified as FREE. However, with paid content? I bet that was one of the first things that they made sure has a limitation placed on it. Personally, I have no intention of testing this theory out as I don't want to lose the ability to recover any of the vast amount of content that I have purchased and downloaded.

No, im talking about paid $2.00 LBP costumes. I've shared some of those more than 5 times. But I also dont get your thinking that you will "lose" the content you already have downloaded by sharing. Do you understand you keep the stuff you downloaded and that no one can you let on your account can take that from you. It's five shares PLUS YOU and no one can take away a game or content from you after purchase and download. You GAIN by sharing, you dont lose. The only thing is like I said with the $30+ scenario with the 24 hr lock out period. you may lose in that case but then again not really as you'll always have the content yet you'll have to take turns playing it.

Of course I understand that I can't lose what is already on my system. I'm not an idiot. However, if I share my 5 alotted downloads for any particular item and then my system crashes, I will then have to pay for said content once again. No thank you. I'd rather just stay virtuous by not partaking in illegal copyright infringement and therefore alleviating the possibility of being left in the lurch down the road.

If you want something in particular, I suggest always relying on the legitimate way of acquiring it. No complications that way. Like I said in a previous post regarding the GoW costume/sticker pack... try calling Gamestop/EB Games locations around your community. Several in Vancouver were shipped a bunch of codes a couple of weeks AFTER the release which are now just sitting behind the counter waiting to expire. They gave one to me over the phone without any questions and I verified it worked on the PSN while I still had them on the phone in case I needed another one.
