I have all of my RB/GH stuff for that 'other' system, but it doesn't make that big of a difference.
IMO, the Rock Band 2 set is probably a good starting point. I've heard too many bad things about the symbols on the GHWT drum set (maybe they are exaggerated, but I still wouldn't risk it). Like other stated, you can tradck down RB1 cheap and import almost all of the songs from it for $5 (there's like 2 or 3 songs that don't import over because they couldn't get the lisence for them again). Then there's the other downloadable songs, and the AC/DC pack (which you can play by itself or import over like RB1), and you can have almost all of the available RB songs work together on one game. You could always get the GHWT stand-alone game and use it with your instruments from RB. Plus, you may want to get an extra Guitar at some point if you plan to have people over for multiplayer (regardless of which full set you get, they only come with 1 Guitar, but you'll need a second if you want to have someone on Guitar and Bass at the same time). And in that case, I would actually recommend the GHWT set that comes with the game and Guitar. That particular Guitar is really nice, and I do recommend it if you get a second one. |
