Guitar Hero III this fall....which will rock more on the ps3 I believe....and theres plenty other games coming out....patience grasshopper, cant become to eager over games....would u rather a game shipped out quick to meet demand or for developers take their time and get it right aand have an excellent gaming expierence? Games are become like movies, with their massive stories, voice overs, motion capture, actors and such....this stuff takes time....spiderman 3 wasnt made in a week, and nor shall GTA 4

I wanted to make a strong point. Is the ps3 really hard to develop for or does microsoft just want everyone to realize that the ps3 will flop and everyone will want an xbox 360 instead? By the end of the year, the ps3 will have quite a selection of games to choose from, not to mention the home program coming out in beta form by the end of april and talk of an 80GB model in the works to replace the 20 that no one wanted. How is microsoft going to combat all this? They do have the elite xbox out now. How can microsoft make the xbox live place better then sony's online service when they reliaze that sony doesn't charge anything for being online vs a monthly subscription? I know that some of us would continue to go to xbox live but if I had to choose between a fee or free of charge, I would go with free of charge. I think that the home program is going to really change the meaning of the word online and everyone will realize that the ps3 is worth getting. The only thing that we need for the ps3 is connectivity to the psp because microsoft doesn't have a handheld and sony would clearly win here if they can get the psp to interact with a ps3 game somehow. Of course, Nintendo can do the same thing with the ds and wii, but Nintendo isn't going to compete with either sony or microsoft. I have read that sony has won the console war twice with the playstation and playstation 2. Can they do it again with the playstation 3? Here's what we need for the ps3 to grow: 1) To interact with the psp. 2) To expand the online service which is being done with home. 3) To continue updating the ps3 with firmware updates to fix bugs and add new options. 4) To introduce a price cut at some point in the future. 5) To have future ps3 games do well in terms of selling. We need games to rank in the 9's like resistence did. We have only one ps3 game that is in the 9.0 score range, we need more. I would like to mention one other strong point about the ps3. The machines have not broken. Mine hasn't broken yet and better not for the high price. This is one other area that sony clearly wins because I haven't read one report where a ps3 broke. Microsoft had numerous xbox 360 machines that were breaking. There's been some talk of a possible redesign both with the ps3 and psp, but nothing has been confirmed yet. I would think that the ps3 could be shrunk down in size. The xbox 360 is by no means a horrible console, it's great.

i was thinking in getting both the PS3 and the 360. But i think there the same console so it woulden't be worth it. They both play high def games and online play with media functions. What would be the major diffrences so it would be worth getting both? But if i was to get both, i would be getting the PS3 first.

the PS3 can interacy with the PS3. The PS3 has "remote play". Spny's phil harrison said that the online survices would get better during the summer. We need the console to grow he said. The ps3 has firmware updates mostly every mounth. The mill be price cuts nexy year. Just like what happend to the PS1 and PS2. And if sonty don't sell, they might drop the price sooner than you think. Sony will bring out some great games, likr the 360's collection, but again, the PS3 needs time to grow because it has more technology and it will take a bit more time for game developers to get used to it. The 360 is a great system, put i have aways been a playstation fan. Since i do have the PS1,PS2,PSP and soon getting a PS3.

I can't even remember turning my 360 on in the past 4 months. I'm gonna sell it or trade it in at GameStop for PS3 games within the next two months.

The only reason to get a 360 is "Gears of War" and "Halo 3". I have both PS3 and 360, and havnt played my 360 since i beat gears of war. Playstation online is free and there new "Playstation Home" looks sweet. Xbox live cost about $5.00 a month. It really depends on if you want to spend the money just to play halo 3.

The only two three things that seperate the playstation 3 from the xbox 360 are 1) A blu-ray disc drive 2) Free online service 3) and a handheld psp.

for your 3rd i would of something like insanely more powerful machine or maybe standard hard drive or back words compatibility with over 2 000 games or maybe standerd wireless(as of 20 gig production discontunied) or maybe even alternet os friendly/ consumer(indastry standerd complaint products work for ps3 such as key board or mose or web cam but with xbox you need to buy the microsft stuff)

Good point to make. I wonder if you could make faceplates for the ps3? or somekind of a shell that you could put the ps3 into. A chrome case was made for the wii, but I don't really like bare metal over glossy white. One other thing that the xbox 360 doesn't have is motion senors in the controller.

4) Wi-fi
5) 7 blu-tooth devices. Controllers, endless variety of 3rd party headsets, keyboards, mice, etc and future peripherals.
6) 4 USB ports vs 3
7) SIXAXIS motion sensing controller for 3D navigation - not just games.
8) Controllers with built-in re-charger - not an extra cost.
9) Standard 2.5" laptop drive not a proprietary one. Choice. Cheaper.
10) SACD
11) Media slots for Compact Flash, SD Cards and memory sticks.
12) Web browser
- freedom to access other media rather than what the vendor dictates.
- access your web apps like mail.
13) Linux - Ubuntu, YDL, etc, etc - again your choice.
14) HDMI as standard feature
15) HMDI 1.3 not 1.2a
16) Uncompressed 7.1 surround (RFOM as an example)
17) Folding@Home and helping others
18) High quality and problem free in comparison - in both hardware and software.
19) 40 players online (so far) and dedicated servers - not just that it is free.

Probably missed something

Oh yeah .. quiet.

You answered my question. I didn't know that you can put skins on the ps3. You can on the psp. What's SACD? I think that sony really outdid themselves with the ps3. It's everything that a sony fan could ask for. The only three things that could make the ps3 better would be a price cut, a newer model and connecting to the psp.

I myself am frustrated by the lack of great games for my PS3, I know they are in the pipeline, but I'm getting impatient. I have no doubt that in the end my PS3 gaming habits will far surpass those of my 360 as the library expands.

Super Audio CD's

It already connects to the PSP....I use remote play to stream music while others are watching T.V all the time. If you meant Global remote play that is coming as well.

I don't see why it needs a price cut in comparison to what the competition delivers. If they do great but since it includes online, battery charger etc it's already cheaper than the Elite for us and if you want HD movies it's a lot cheaper than the 360 offerings.

People do realize that the PS3 has more games coming out for it in 2007 than any other console right?

I think that's very telling, considering more games are being released for the hard to develop for PS3 over the familiar 360. Of course, the 360 will still have more games, but the PS3 is already gaining back its ground.

Gamepro and GameInformer report this, 81 games coming this year alone.

I just hope the PS3 games can catch up to the 360's! But if blu ray loses the format war, then they won't catch up
There aren't really that many titles out for the PS3, or maybe it just seems that way because a lot of the titles that came out for the PS3 were already on the 360 and I already owned them (and most were looking better on the 360 as game developers had more experience with the 360).

There are games coming out for the ps3. I just hope that they are good. We've had some ps3 games flop already like fear.

There's no dobt that there are alot of games coming out for the PS3 this year. Every single game system has there bad games, just like every single system has there good ones.

I also agree with kiddtigger said.

There are some games that are only for the ps3 like LAIR. I wonder when we'll hear more about rainbow six, burnout 5 or GIA IV?
