I believe that's because Nintendo patented its +Control Pad, which is why no one else can use it. I feel that SCE's directional buttons are a much better approximation than MS's dpad, though.

Yeah, the PS3's are perfect.. I'm just bedazzled that MS can't find a solution and have something that actually works for games that use the d-pad for the main form of gameplay. Just going straight right in Pro Evo on the 360 is almost impossible..

I have a PS3, a PC, and a Wii, so there's very little overlap for me.
I tend to buy anything that appears on PS3 for my PS3 (Bioshock) if it has trophies. There's very little overlap between my PS3 and Wii so they don't compete for my gaming dollars except on rare multiplatforms (where I always buy the PS3 version - i.e. Megaman 9). |

Well I have a PS3 and a PC and it depends on the game. Things I factor into the equation are:
1. Controls. Fighting games will always be on my PS3, bc the controller is much better for those than the 360 controller (which I use for PC gaming). Mouse/keyboard is the only way to play a game like Fallout 3/Oblivion for me. Simply cant use a gamepad for those. Most other genres, it doesnt really matter to me. 2. Multiplayer. I will always choose my PS3 for this bc I dont have any friends with a gaming PC and/or do any online gaming. Since majority are on the PS3, I'll buy games for that when it comes to online play. 3. Price. New release PS3 games are $60. New PC games are usually $40. If its a game, Im only moderately interested in and the other points are a huge factor, then I'll go with the PC, bc of price 4. Modding. Games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Oblivion are infinetely better on the PC, thanks to the modding. You're not going to get that on the PS3. 5. Trophies. This is a new interest since its now becoming more prevalent. I had the choice of getting PoP on either system and went with the PS3, only bc it contained trophies. I can see myself doing this more often in the future. 6. Graphics/Sounds. It looks and sounds better playing games on my 32" HDTV and surround sound via my PS3 than my 22" monitor and desktop speakers. I look at all these factors and weigh in the pros and cons on the games and base my decision on that. |

Just about everything is bought for the 360 due to XBL and the fact that I prefer the controller MUCH better than the PS3 since I mostly play FPS-type games. I 'm playing Resistance 2 right now, and HATE the PS3 controller for that. Aside from the screwy triggers, the right thumbstick is way too sensitive to clicking, resulting in me meleeing far too often when I'm trying to move. Very annoying.

I buy everything for the 360 because I like the controller better, XBL and because of achievements. I will only buy the exclusives I want for the ps3.

That said I usually get PC first, PS3 second and 360 last. Most 360 games are released on the PC so I actually only have Mass Effect on the xbox |

I have all 3 systems. PS3, Wii and (2) 360's Reg and elite.
My son is spoiled. He has the Wii and 360 in his room. I am spoiled too. I have the PS3 and elite in my room. I had the 360 longer than the PS3. So I got 2 360's so my son and I can play the online games together. I don't like to share my screen (split screen sucks) Plus the little shit cheats!!! He looks at my screen and hunts me down. Also it's really nice to see your target on a 24" dia site scope. Im old and blind. I really want to make sure i can see the enemy when I do those head shots. If the PS3 network get better. I might get another PS3 for my son. |

PS3 Controller sucks, it feel like I'm holding a paper cup VS the quality of the XBOX 360 controller. I used to use my PS3 for Blu-Rays but that went out the window when I couldn't use my universal remote and the increase in loudness on the PS3 fan. But I do love R2 and MGS4 and that's when I only turn on my PS3. Eventhing else is for my XBOX 360 |

Though I totally agree, keep in mind these are subjective and won't be agreed upon by many here.
