The fact that tyson is in fn4 makes it a instant buy. fnr3 is the best boxing game ever, man i still can believe how horrible prizefighter was. 2k should stay away from boxing and leave it to ea.

Also Ea is having fans vote on the fnr4 cover for either tyson or ali. Link.

I remember FN3, it was the first game I ever rented for my PS3. Lots of fun. What do you guys know about FNR4?

Yeah, can someone post some media on FNR4?? Are there any pics or previews of this game yet?

FNR3 was the best overall boxing game ever, and I've been playing the series since the early Knockout King days. I'm really looking forward to FNR4, but I'm a little apprehensive since EA shuttered EA Chicago, the original developers. The head designer is no longer with EA, so he's not involved in the project.

to be honest, i dont like fight night.

the online crowd, for the most part, are 2 round battles.
people just stand there and 'whale away' at eachother until somedrops.

the best is when you play someone you dont have to move, just lean back/lean to the sides to avoid punches then strike.

or how people come out of the corner with a haymaker fully loaded to land(they are cocked back the entire time)

sure the game LOOKS SWEET but it has always played like crap.
just like basketball games, after a week or 2 im bored and never play the game again.

if i do get this game, itll be on a RENTAL basis and thats that.
ea wont sucker me into buying another fight night/knockout kings anymore.

FYI - If you preorder the game from gamestop (as of last night) they have the demos out. I just got my demo code last night and played it.

They changed some things up but its still good.. I couldnt knock out Hatton in 3 rounds yet.. still tryin to get the feel for it again... Graphics look nice and the controls seem smooth...

I will be picking this one up day 1 as well...

go get your demos!!

Having played the demo I'd say it's a step up from UFC, the fights appear more varied, when I played UFC each fight followed a similar pattern.

I don't like the new controls for round 4. Hopefully they'll add more configs for when they release it but I didn't like the way it felt. I also didn't like how they added the health bars. Round 3 was cool how you had to listen to the announcers and gauge how your fighter was reacting to know how well you were doing. I don't think they should have changed much from round 3 besides new boxers and improving the graphics a little but EA Toronto redid the whole game engine for this one.

I am really hoping the demo for xbox360 is a sick joke and not the real game...I played this yesterday at my friends house since I couldn't believe him that FNR4 was bad. OMG this game is brutal...the controls do not even respond to what you are trying to do (total stick control), parrying is retarded as you only have about .02 seconds to land it right, and the animations as well as the graphics aren't really what they are showing you in the pictures. It is more "fake" looking and cartoonist than anything that looks real. It reminds me of an updated Ready to Rumble Boxing. I am going to give it another shot when my friend buys it for PS3 and I am just really hoping that the demo doesn't do it justice because if it does the game blows. The corner work is a spending system where you have points to put towards health restore, stamina etc. I know a new team developed this game but they didn't take anything from FNR3...I'm sad....

I completely agree. I was really excited when I it saw the coming soon game case at Game Stop and after playing the demo I don't think I even want to buy it. I've been playing FNR3 since I bought it when it came out. All "total punch control" and no buttons though? They could have at least added a config for a combination of both (like in round 3), but maybe this is something they'll fix for the release. I don't want to just button mash like a mortal kombat game, but it's easier to throw jabs and crosses using the buttons and the stick for the bigger punches.

They've been bragging about the graphics for this one but it looks like sparks flying off the guys head instead of sweat when they get hit. It also seems like besides adding Tyson and Foreman, the "roster" seems worse and even some of the boxers they had in FNR3 look worse (James Toney doesn't look like James Toney anymore).

Interesting note, FNR3 producer Kudo Tsunoda went on to become the project director for the new Natal system for 360.

I wish it wasn't so. My online record for Fight Night Round 3 was 256-6 I played that game like it was my job. But after 3 rounds of this FNR4 demo I was honestly questioning if this game was in fact Fight Night....
