Default American Gangster and the gold '07 Camry

I don't know if anybody else spotted this, but at 2:32:29 of the extended version of the American Gangster BD, when Richie Roberts is waiting for Frank Lucas outside the church and the camera shows what's to the right of Frank on the street, there's a police barricade, and passing by behind the police cars is a 2007 gold Camry, even though this is supposed to be 1974, or 75!!!

Man, this movie is good, but seriously, how can a director like Ridley Scott let this happen? And what about all the rest of the film crew? Are you going to tell me that nobody spotted that Camry when I spotted it at first glance? I'm not even one of those people who find errors in movies really easy, there's supposed to be 43 errors in Dark Knight and I saw the BD twice, and I didn't see one of them. I wasn't looking though, I found the list after seeing it.

And the editor, he didn't see this? He's watching with more care than anybody else. They could've digitally removed it and replaced it with anything else from 1974.

Really, it's so lame and obvious that for a moment I thought it was put there as joke, but the movie is too serious for that.

Remember the guy walking backwards wearing jeans in Gladiator? Isn't that another Ridley Scott movie?

You can try and try to keep things in order on sets but sometimes things slip through.

Titanic has few anachronisms including a wrong colored Statue of Liberty holding a wrong colored torch.

The Mummy '99 includes ancient books not ancient scrolls.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit plays with Hollywoodland history...er, I mean Hollywood history. At least that's what the sign in the movie says.

The best example of tough editing, in my opinion as bar none, is Bullitt with the infamous chase sequence. The car loses more hubcaps than it physically has, background cars are recycled repeatedly, and vehicular damage is random.

The sign used to say HOLLYWOODLAND until it burned sometime in the 30's and the "LAND" portion of the sign was not replaced.

thats funny, too much on the directors mind to catch everything. But someone should of edited it. probably why its in the extended.

Here's a scene from Gladiator (Ridley Scott) where you can see the gas canister used to flip over the "prop" chariot.

You mean "should have" edited? English, please!

Yes, they should have digitally erased it, most likely replace it with a 74 or 75 giant car to take up all the space of the Camry.

I already sent back the disc, but I don't know if it's only in the extended. It's an important scene, I would guess it's in the theatrical version as well.

Does anyone else think this is one of the worst looking Blu Rays ever? It barely looks like a Blu Ray. It is definitely the worst looking Blu Ray I own.

No, I think it looks pretty decent, if not great. One thing I did when I watched it was raise the color in my TV by 10 points, because it's somewhat desaturated, but I think that's probably on purpose to give more significance to the movie's period. Another thing that would've help to stay coherent to the period would've been to digitally remove the freakin' 2007 Camry!!!

I have one. (spoiler alert): Did anyone notice that
[Show spoiler]there was a SPACESHIP at the end of Indiana Jones and the Kondom of the Crystal Skull? A SPACESHIP (not to mention the resurrection of one alien generated from several individual alien skeletons)!!!!! Jeepers, talk about "out of place!" I think that is worse than the Camry in American Gangster. Also, at the beginning of Indy 4 just before the A-bomb detonates, Doctor Jones empties out the refrigerator and climbs in - with the FREEZER component intact. However, once the fridge shoots across the sky and lands in the desert, Indy falls out (unscathed) and the freezer unit is not in the refrigerator. After Indy breaks Ray Winstone's nose, it is miraculously "healed" in subsequent scenes. During the sand pit scene when Mutt (Shia LeBeouf) rescues Marion and Indy with a snake, there IS no snake in the scene when Marion gets pulled out of the sand (look close - it actually IS a rope). It magically transforms into a snake in Mutt's hands when he tosses it out to the sinking Harrison Ford.

The first battle in Braveheart has glaring continuity errors. When the Scots were charging, you clearly see Mel Gibson holding a sword, then cut to him holding none, then sword again, then none.
