youve come to the most biased place to ask (the dedicated ps3 section) you should ask this in the blu-ray player forum if u ask me lol... why not ask at an xbox board, im gonna say no, for what youre gonna do with it buy a cheaper blu-ray player, and the money you save on that buy more blu's =P

go for it.. get a ps3 and enjoy playing games and watching blue-ray movies
