Sweet, let us know how the DVD looks and sounds! Also, let us know how the BD-Live features are on the DVD.

What I find amazing is that someone is surprised by this. I mean how long has it been out on BD and how long have we all talked about the shifts on this site. I would have thought since the OP has been on this site since '07 he would have know ahead of time that the ratio shifts.

I for one love the shifts and would not have it any other way!

Political issues weren't an issue at all...... I thought it was "Good" and may even buy it.... but I'm not seeing the "Be all end all" movie experience everyone else claims to have gotten from it....... but it was good

I still like Jack's portrayal better

I saw this at the theater, and when the Blu was announced, thought the aspect change was going to bother me. I was so into the movie at home, I didn't notice it changing.

It seems that for the entire film, the aspect ratio changes from 1:78 to 2:40.
It is horrendously annoying to see this picture change back and forth. I don't know how it was exhibited in the IMAX theaters, but in the regular theaters, the aspect ratio did NOT go back and forth.
I suppose now I'll have to get the standard dvd in order to watch the film as I saw it in theaters.
Some people might find it annoying, but I really like it. Of course I'd rather have an IMAX version of the entire film, but I will take as many IMAX scenes as possible. I do not even notice the ratio change any longer.

Why are yall being so mean to the OP? Just because he's new and ignorant to the perfect viewing experience doesn't mean everyone should make fun of him. If he wants to view this movie on SD with it's incredibly blurry images and constant ratio, let him. He is still supporting the economy and has the right to choose a substandard version of the best and most profitable movie of 2008. Seriously, just because his vision is poor and cannot enjoy the changing of the ratios, doesn't mean we need to flame him about it. Obviously he has special needs and we need to be there to support him in times of HD humiliation.

Come on people, he needs caring just like a sick triceratops would need caring....

My friend *****es about this all the time. Makes me want to hit him. Yes it's a little annoying when the aspect ratio changes but it's easy to get over.
