Buying either the 706 or 806 tomorrow - Page 2 - Blu-ray Forum

I'm surprised Onkyo chose to remove the Burr Brown DACs when they moved from the 805 to the 806. What DACs did Onkyo replace them with? Did they replace the Burr Browns with Crystals?

I can get an Onkyo 805 for the same price as an 806. The only difference is that the 805 is "used but like new" and 806 is brand new.

Would you guys take a chance on the used one???

I wouldnt but thats just me, i want some sort of warranty, which i know i got a refurb but it at least has a warranty with it still

Its from Amazon warehouse deals...I'm sure I could return it if I had any trouble. But in all honesty, how much better could the burr browns DACs on the 805 sound compared to the NOT (Texas Instruments) so generic DACs on the 806???
