Yup, pretty much what I expected. I was pretty pissed when it was first announced, cause it looked like they totally screwed me over. But when the facts that the Elite isn't HDMI 1.3, doesn't have 65nm chip, and doesn't have a quieter dvd drive, I completley changed my mind. The Xbox 360 Elite is totally worthless unless it is your first 360. No way in hell I'd trade my premium for that.

Or just trade it in for a PS3 instead. Why let them do it to you again as they surely will .. and you get a better console to boot.

Again-not MS ripping people off. If EB Games- Gamestop (which by the way-they're the same company) or game crazy aren't honoring that's their business-not MS's. The EB here wouldn't even take my PS3 back after purchase because the power button didn't work-I didn't blame that on Sony-I blamed it on EB.

I use to manage a Software Etc (now Gamestop) and I do agree that the trasfer cable deal was a foolish step on MS's part, for them to think that previous owners wouldn't need it is ridiculous. Having said that-I can't remember one system launch, at my store, that something didn't go wrong. Either not enough systems, systems catching fire (which seems to be the popular one you hear at launches), or any other problem. I would hate to still be managing with this cable situation.

I just got one and hooked it up...I just think you finding ONE picture of that isn't going to detour me from buying one...like I've said every system has their launch problems-my PS3's on/off switch doesn't even work (launch system) so I have to use the controller (I'd put a video of me trying to use it but it's just a video of me tapping the stupid button over and over and over with nothing happening-I'd have to call in a sub to push the button cause my finger would get tired). The guy at EB told me I'd have to use my ESP (service plan) to get that fixxed-so I'm living with it until my service plan is almost up and then taking it in for a brand new one. I think they're both good systems-just people like to show off the bad apples.

The only perk that really sold it for me over the normal 360 is the color though.

Really kinda upset over the cost differential though. It'd cost me more than I paid for my ps3 to get the thing to have Wireless internet and a HD media player .

The worst part is, handling MS's DRM. If folks migrate to the Elite, anything they actually purchased becomes only usable if they're online.

That said I have yet to see how Sony's DRM holds up so can't constrast and complain there .
