If it is the same author I do, but then I like uniformity. Thank god for the film, one of the best

Digi Book sucks but I will buy this great film! I will just use a custom cover and slide it into my blue case I have waiting.

I'm not gonna rail against the digi-book style packaging any longer since it is obvious that this style seems to have caught on and is now being embraced by another studio. I simply wish we had been given a choice. That being said, I simply couldn't resist picking up the digibooks that are currently available when I learned of the recent Warner Home Video 3 for 2 sale. Had I still been holding out, Dr. Strangelove would have proven irresistible to me. I love the film too much to resist a purchase. I suspect that there may be a Stanley Kubrick library released with all of his films receiving this type of treatment. It's just a hunch, but Sony and Warner have cooperated on past Kubrick DVD box sets as well.

I don't care much about uniformity. I do really like the style of the Warner Digi-books. I've got every one released so far, and they look really great sitting next to each other on the shelf, so I just think it would be nice if this digi-book was the same size so that it could fit right in with the Warner ones. If it's not then that's fine too.

Great, now we just need Spartacus, The Killing, Killer's Kiss, Paths of Glory, Barry Lyndon and Lolita on Blu-Ray, and I would be very happy .

Well i'm sure Spartacus, Paths of Glory, lolita, and Barry Lyndon will come eventually, but i wouldn't hold your breath on the other two. Spartacus is great, but i really don't put it in the same class as Kubrick's others, since it wasn't his project from the get go.

Very cool. I don't mind special packaging for certain titles. They could have released this in a paper bag and I'd snatch it up on day 1.

HEAR, HEAR!!!!

I just recently bought "Eyes Wide Shut", which I had been holding off for a while. I had bought the Kubrick Boxset on DVD and had "double-dipped" on all the titles, when I got my BD player.

YES...I can't believe that Barry Lyndon hasn't been released yet...that movie cries for the HD treatment!

I'm sure Criterion will eventually release Spartacus, so no worries about treatment.

While I'm not a fan of the digibook packaging, I love the movie, so I'm getting it. I'll just replace the case like I did with Warner's.

Ahh give me Barry Lyndon!

I did the same as you..bought the dvd set which didn't include Barry Lyndon or an updated release of it. Then I got a blu-ray player and started buying them on blu-ray. Managed to sell the set for a nice $50 so I didn't do too bad. The last release for Lyndon was in '99. It's been 10 years and those were the days of the evil snapper cases.

+1 Bigstyle.

I'm rather fond of these digibooks. IMO they are much better than a slip of paper stuffed into a case and held in place with a plastic prong. I just hope that we in the UK get this. I have to import the Warner digibooks as we only get the case and a slip of paper.

Looks like I'll have another book besides One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

I wonder if Sony will match the size of their other movies? Frankly, it made no sense for Warner to make them bigger than regular cases.

But they look terrible on a shelf.....unless you have ALL digi books.

I love the book design. I only have two, but looking at my DVDs, I like the variety we had then, and I like the new variety now.

And, the artwork itself is great, glad they went with the hand-drawn art, and not a shot of Peter Sellers.

Me, I'd rather pay less.

(Edit: I'm with MartinJacks post on that original link: "God damn book style packaging.")
