Killzone 2 audio/video?

I just read the review in Playstation magazine. 5 out of 5 stars and Editors Choice award...not bad. From what I see the video looks gorgeous and now I find out 7.1 audio, very cool.

my only thing with 30frames per second(fps) is this.......

i had all pro football 2k8 for 360

sold 360/games & bought a ps3 and got all pro football 2k8 for ps3

360 apf 2k8 = 60fps

ps3 apf 2k8 = 30fps

and let me tell you....you can feel/see the difference. it seems like the players are more "herky-jerky" and not as fuild as the 360 version.

another prime example was madden 08 . ps3 = 36fps. 360 = 60fps
play that game on both systems and tell me one isnt more fluid than the other.

in this day & age...ESPECIALLY on a ps3 blu ray disc(50gb) i expect everything to be 1080p/60fps/7.1 sound

since we cant compare killzone 2 to another version of killzone 2 running 60fps vs 30fps maybe we wont know the difference, but we all will know that the game can and should be smoother

How many look as good as Killzone2??

The answer to both is zero (besides wipeoutHD being 1080p@60fps)

i hear ya, but its MY expectation

btw wipeouthd looks/plays so smooth.
i dont like the game but the way it "feels" is what i expect from every game.

killzone 2 DOES look good. i cant lie about that......but you know it couldve been better with 60fps/1080p support

His point is not what's out but what can be, all this technology and room but still shortcuts, why?

All games should be minimum 1080p, 60fps and 6.1 if not 7.1. Let your televisions de-interlace them if need be just like it de-interlaces a blu-ray 1080p movie on your 720p native set. For those that have 1080p native .

Sony and blu-ray as well as game developers are really missing the boat. It is not about what is but what can be. Sure MGS4, drakes fortune etc look great.. but I wonder what could've been.

Yes, but if it was 60fps/1080p they would have needed to sacrifice something. You need to be realistic.

I agree completely that 60fps is better than 30fps. But thats the best they can do right now, and ill take that.

No argument that there is a difference from 30fps and 60fps, and believe me I'd love 60fps all the time if possible.

but the blu-ray disc with (50gb) isn't what can make a game be 1080p 60fps. It's the hardware paired with the talent of the developers. Often being trade offs. So no we all don't know know KZ2 should be smoother, it may not be possible with the level of effects, physics, etc going on in the game. There is no reason the dev's wouldn't support that resolution and framerate if they could get it to work properly and retain all the physics, texture details, etc.

All 60fps except replays 30fps with extra motion blur etc.

GT5:P would have looked better if they'd concentrated on 720p, increasing trackside detail, increasing shadow quality especially for dash view, optimising performance more to kill tearing and slowdown. Killzone 2 720p with QxAA has better image quality than GT5:P 720p with 4xAA. Killzone 2 may be less contrasty, have less modeled edges close together (crazy high-poly car models) but something still isn't quite right about the way they tuned GT5:P's AA.

Maybe Polyphony will please everyone at every res with GT5 final but they took on too much with GT5:P and it wasn't as polished as I expected from Polyphony.
