Hey guys! My copy just got here today and, as a matter of fact, I have the 1st movie playing on my TV as I type this. So, interestingly, it appears the Dutch release is NOT identical to the UK release as all 5 movies have DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO, not high resolution audio tracks. As an audiophile, this was huge for me! It also includes D-Box support for those lucky enough to take advantage of that feature.

I'm not sure of the complete listing of extras as there is NO insert included. As for the Blu-Ray case, there is a nice slip cover and the case itself is IDENTICAL in size to the original 5-disc Blade Runner set. I've attached some pictures for reference.

That's just a quick overview, I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you guys might have!

Is it true the discs only have English subtitles and nothing more?

Escape from the Planet of the Apes
Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
Battle for the Planet of the Apes
Thank you very much for that!

Hopefully someone will post the info for the UK version soon Now that Rantlers has confirmed the UK set is different!

Fox are really inept! They can't create identical content worldwide on their Blu-rays even when they've created (at least) three different masters for one particular title. There are only so many audio languages they need to include after all.

Also people are reporting that there are FOX titles in the UK with fewer languages on them than what's on the equivalent US release that are still missing extras. What's that all about!?

I'll make it a goal to post up the UK info on dvdcompare.net. I may even have time tonight if it snows as bad as they predict!

That was a quick delivery!!

Your BD player is deffo reporting DTS HD MA English audio!? You're not just going by what Fox has printed on the case?

Thank you for offering to answer questions! I'm sure many of us are curious to know the differences between the Dutch, UK and US versions and are grateful for your help! Here are a load of quessies about the UK set :

1. Does the UK set include the original English mono audio for all the movies like the US Set?

2. Does the UK set have isolated scores for all the films encoded in DTS HD MA like the US set? The Dutch set has isolated scores encoded in standard DTS (754kbps) only!

3. What audio languages and subs are there on the UK set for each film?

4. Does the UK release include all the picture galleries for the last four films that are on the US release? Battle in the US for example includes a "Future News Gallery", "Interactive Pressbook Gallery", "Advertising Gallery" and "Lobby Cards Gallery"? The Dutch release is missing some of the picture galleries from Beneath, Conquest and Battle compared to the US set.

5. Does the UK set include both cuts of the film for Conquest and Battle? The Dutch version doesn't include both cuts for Battle, only the theatrical cut and an option to view extended scenes.

6. Does the UK set come with any booklet at all?

7. Is there any chance you could take some pix of the menus on the UK discs?

Thanks again for your help!

Yup. The box says DTS-HD MA, the disc says DTS-HD MA, the menu option on the BD says "English 5.1 DTS-HD MA", and the PS3 is reporting DTS-HD MA while the movie is playing. That being said, is there any other way to confirm? Serious question! I'm intrigued as to why some people were reporting it as DTS-HD HR or if they were just getting it mixed up with the Dutch release.

No, I did not see the option for English mono audio tracks under the audio options.

Nope, nothing at all, just a slipcover for the case.

I'll get back to your other questions tonight when I get home from work. Thanks!

Rantlers, mine came today and I couldn't be more pleased. I think it is a classy set and as you said, it is identical to the Blade Runner case. The slip cover is a nice touch. I am so glad I sold the U.S. version on Ebay. I hated the rubber hubs (they actually began to crumble) and I wanted the five discs to take up as little space on the shelf as possible. As nice as the book was, I just new it would end up in a closet and forgotten. If you are into the Omen films, the UK trilogy is presented similar to the Apes Collection—slightly thinner case.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I have a question regarding the UK PotA BD set: the extended cut of Battle for the Planet of the Apes, which is missing from this set, is about 10 minutes longer than the theatrical cut, yet the various bits of info Ive seen for the European sets list over 45 minutes of deleted footage for this film.
Is this accurate? Is there deleted footage on the UK (and European) sets not included on the US BD sets?

Wondering if someone, who owns the set, could answer these questions:

Are Mandarin subtitles on each disc?

Does every movie have DTS-HD Master Audio, or just the first one?

Sorry for my insistence, but does anyone knows what's included in those 45 minutes of deleted scenes on the European BD of Battle for the Planet of the Apes, when the difference between the 2 cuts on the US BD is apparently 10 minutes or so?

So which special features are missing from the UK set, the price is really good. Thinking on getting it depending on how much special features are missing in comparison to the US set.

Also, are the transfers the same?

Definitely do... classic movies. Okay, they tail off a bit in quality as they go on, and to be honest, as Battle is the weakest of the movies, I really couldn't care less for an extended cut. But, they are a steal at that price. And as well as including the original feature length documentary, the set also includes a wealth of new extra's for each film charting the entire series.

Highly recommended.

So the UK set does have the same special features as the US set then?

Does ANYONE know the proper full specs for the UK release? I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find any concrete info at all. Surely somebody has it?

I'd much prefer the US set with the mono tracks and more extras but the main priority for me is the film transfer/encode quality and lossless DTS-HD audio. I just can't justify spending over £50 to import if the UK set has lossless audio and the same transfer for only £17.

I ordered the UK edition now that it's so cheap + the canadian limited edition that is $30 right now on Amazon.ca

For those prices, I will swap the Region A canadian discs with the Region B ones
