I agree Network and Dog Day are my two favs from him

ps Paddy Cheyefsky's script for Network is 30 year ahead of it's time and so relevant today

The Fall was one of my favorite Blu Blind Buys. It is a great heartfelt film and just awesome to look at.

Also, I can also vouch for Shinobi. It was a great purchase. The PQ isn't excellent cause they used a lot of lighting/color filters so you get some wacky colors, but this was intended. There is also some grain, but man it is really cool. Each fighter has their own special skill, their own weakness, and kinda their own reason for fighting.

One Blu I blind bought and I love is Death Race. The story is typical popcorn saturday night, manly action film. I mean, the store is just good, definitely not great. BUt the PQ and especially the AQ is fantastic.
I just love to put it on to listen to the bullets. I haven't really heard a more realistic bullets penetrating metal before.

The Lookout - underrated drama/thriller

The Proposition - interesting western

Justice League: A New Frontier - an animated superhero movie that recalls an earlier era

Black Book is outstanding. Be warned though, it's subtitled.

Who cares if it has subtitles. It's in it's native language from where it was released and that should be respected.

I don't here all these other non English speaking country's complaining about almost every movie being in English and having to read subtitles.

Into the Wild

A great story. Sean Penn knocked one out of the park with this one.
..but if you like a good story...get it.

There are many titles I agree wholeheartedly on in this thread including:

Black Book (excellent!)
Proposition
The Fall
The Orphanage
Identity
Hidalgo

I would also add

Pan's Labyrinth (don't know if this is truly lesser known, but definitely
excellent)
Volver-wonderful Almodovar film

From Hell (not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it quite a lot)

Is Identity really that good? I have no recollection of this movie even upon reading the synopsis on this site? There is not much coming out this week...so it is a good catch up week for lessor known blu's to get.

I like it quite a lot...it's more of a fun whodunnit sort of as opposed to film classic, IMO. Might not be everyone's cup of tea

+1 on Lives of Others and Layer Cake too!

It's got a very original story plus the PQ is great. This film is set at night mostly and these are some of the most impressive night scenes i have seen.

Check out the reviews.

Saw it when it first came out. [Not sure I'd go quite so far as to say it's one of the reasons I stopped seeing movies when they first came out, but it was pretty much a dud when compared to films I actually like.] Don't really care for the genre, it's pretty mindless/pointless all in all.
