When you get Returns, see if there is still the scene where Catwoman puts the spray cans in the microwave to cause an explosion. I believe that was previously cut by the BBFC.

"Instructions on how to make a homemade bomb." Very silly, but that's the ratings board for you.

Yeah i get it now IRA related. Is it relay that good a scene like you won't import it just for like 10-20 seconds of cut footage.

I remember reading that the regular dvd had a scene cut where a clown was waving nunchukas.

I take it you mean nunchucks. I can't understand it ether. Enter the Dragon had a scene taking out where Bruce had a pair and wasted a few guys with them.

Ok, I just looked it up.

Quote:
* R2 United Kingdom- Warner Bros Home Entertainment - Yes, 0m 9s - Two scenes cut: a clown waving nunchukas was removed, and also the scene in the store where Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) puts aerosol cans into the microwave to cause an explosion
* R2 SE United Kingdom- Warner Bros Home Entertainment - Yes, 0m 7s - The scene in the store where Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer) puts aerosol cans into the microwave to cause an explosion is still cut
Nunchukas have been deemed appropriate now, so the SE release (and presumably the Blu-ray) will not have that scene edited out. The microwave scene was still cut with the SE release, so it would not surprise me to see it cut again.

As to whether it's "that good a scene" - well that isn't really the point, at least not to me. I like having the original movie with no censorship-related cuts on it. There's also the matter of that cut throwing off the commentary, and WB decided to just not include the commentary at all on the UK releases. If this is still an issue on the BD, I'll wait for the Australian, Japanese, or US releases.

I guess I will wait, as much as I've seen the movie it would be weird not to see that scene.

I think the difference in running time is due to the PAL speedup.

I'm crossing my fingers that Returns is uncut. Was the cut really noticeable on the previous releases?

That shouldn't be the issue, I have been wrong before though.

Edit: sorry didn't realize those were dvds, never clicked the link.

It is PAL speedup. No other explanation required.

PAL Speedup maybe?

I remember that Catwoman scene, I have an old VHS recording of the movie and it shows the scene (broadcast on Danish satellite TV). I should check the French SE to see if it includes the scene.

Without the microwave scene, you wouldn't completely understand why the store blows up (although you know Catwoman definitely had something to do with it). I'm hoping the movie will not be cut, since Warner usually uses the same encode for all regions. I also wouldn't want to lose the commentary.
