I'd get the Sammy A650. All the important features of the 750 series, and without the 1.9" thickness of the 850. It's your best bargain, I think, out of the Samsung line.

I agree with those who are saying either Samsung 650/750/850. Those tv's are amazing. I have the 750 myself and absolutley love it. But, pick the one you like after you've done your research.

I liked the Bezel and the speakers on the 750 a little better than the 650.

i looked at samsung aswell. good tv but wasnt as good in the demo room.
i compared the kuro side by side with the aquos before buying it.the sony aswell.
i chose the sharp on piccy quality and nothing else...build quality is shite but i dont really care..

u cannot just say a product is shite without hom demoing it...i have 1 plasma and 3 lcd's now.

kuro, samsung 32 inch, old sony bravia 32 inch and this new sharp.
the sharp is better than all the others by quite a big margin.
your loss peeps if you dont check it out.
i thought blu ray sucked on the kuro..it was the tv letting it down.picture is jerky and grainy.
same here at home and in the dem room.
blu ray and the ps3 now rock big time..never been more happier with a purchase in my life.
kro is now in my tv room.replacing the samsung lcd

one other thing thar sucks about the kuro is the shinny screen..wtf are pioneer playing at aye..too much glare...first thing i noticed when first installing the aquos was how cool the mat finish is reducing glare from the screen.
i was a plasma die hard untill last week.i just new something wasnt right watching blu ray and hi def broadcasts and my suspisions were found out to be right

kuro owners sell them and go lcd

Not sure where you get that from but it is widely acknowledged that a Kuro elite is the finest TV you can buy - no ifs, no buts and thats before its been professionally calibrated. Granted Plasma's do suffer from screen glare but again it is widely known. BTW I wouldn't go toe to toe with sonny on plasma's. He has had sony Xbr's and an assortment of plasma's and he knows what he is talking about - check out his sig if you don't believe me

Has anybody actually gone into a store to see the samsungs? the screens on those tv are glossy. It looks like they put a sheet of glass on them hence the glare that you can see on them. Even the Sony screens have gone to a new glossy coating. If you can't see the glare on both these tvs you must be blind.

I'd also recommend a Samsung 650/750/850/950. The 650 usually offers the best value out of their 52" lineup but at times, the 750 is just $50 more. I've always poined out that the 750's bezel looks much nicer than the 650's. If the glossy screen bothers you, Samsung does offer a matte screen version.

XBRs are also great TVs, but you will generally pay more for a Sony. I first bought the XBR4 in early 2008 and then bought the 750 in Decemember 2008, both are fantastic LCDs. I did look at Sharps but never really saw a good demonstation for a 52" or smaller. There was a local high end HT shop that demo'd the 65" but I wasn't impressed. However, specs for the larger panel wasn't as good as the smaller ones from Sharp's listings so I woud think the smaller panels will look better.

The Sony W series also gets good reviews on Amazon. I'm sure you'll be happy with any of the TVs that has been recommended so far.

Jayrod ... just my two cents, because others have recommended several great TVs to you, but I LOVE my 52 inch LG LCD. It is 1080P 120Hz ... model 52LG70. I can't believe how great the picture is compared to my old Sony.

blows the kuro into oblivion peeps.ha the kuro nearly 2 years and played with the settings for days after getting a ps3.

blu ray sucks on the kuro big time..so does the awefull screen glare when watching movies..
i can see why pioneer are stopping making plasmas..lcd's are just far better now.
i nether thought i would say that peeps. thought the kuro was the mutts nuts untill buying a ps3.
as i say i have 4 flat screen tv's now and had them since they started making em years ago..so i know me stuff big time
