The main drawback to the 650 to me is the glare on the screen. Does anyone who has one of these sets see that it detracts from the viewing experience?

I'm looking for a upgrade myself and had settled on the 630. The only difference is the non glare screen of the 630 vs the reflective screen of the 650. Good advise to stay away from the 750, though the 850 does offer an updated processing chip that slightly improves PQ.

never read reviews dude..all back handers
i'm into hi fi aswell..all the rated hi fi kit sucks big time.
i'm telling you i have compared them intensly.the kuro is not as good
was watching discovery hi def last night and the wife commented again on just how crystal clear it is.
bear in mind i have a state of the art sky system costing over 1k aswell.i get a perfect signal via it.
in the store the kuro was compaired by me and peeps in the demo room.
not one person i asked said the kuro was better.
120hz thats all bollox as is most sales gimmicks these manufacturers come up with..just a sales technic..
all i will say is dont buy a kuro plasma...screen glare alone is a major reason not to buy one.
it's a revelation not having to have all the lights off to watch a movie.
that shinny screen looks good when switched off, but is ferkin aweful when you try and watch anything.
go lcd.plasma is dead now and never ever thought i would say that peeps

Can I assume that by Sky you are reffering to the UK satellite service - because if you are you got royally stitched up.

Somehow i doubt that all the rated hifi kit sucks. give us some brand names and then we will see...

And whilst it is good that everyone has ther own opinion, please don't try and argue with proven fact. Pioneer Kuro elite plasma's are the best TV that money can buy. End of discussion as far as i'm concerned. And no I don't have one so i'm not a fanboy spouting off.

If you hate plasma so much u can take my LCD and ill take that crappy kurp off your hands

but seriously, i hope your kidding, most people dont even consider sharp one of the top tier brands (ie sony samsung) for LCDs much less anywhere near what a kuro offers, i dont even own a kuro but i demo'd the kuro's and kuro elites the other week and they look awesome. maybe u just dont have urs calibrated right or something

to the OP, the LN52A650 seems to be a nice buy, i currently have a LN40A550 and if i dont end up getting a kuro (cost reasons) i will probably get the LN52A650

I had the 630 and returned it for the 650. I didn't like the washed out look on the 630. Even after calibrating it I could not get the picture to my liking. So I went with the 650. I too was concerned of the glare. But took the plunge and I am glad I did. The gloss makes the colors jump out at you. I don't ever notice the glare when the tv is on. When it's off sure you can see reflections, but who sits and looks at a tv when it's off? Great LCD imho. The blacks are the best I have seen on a LCD. I say take the chance, if you find that the glare is too much then return it. But I doubt you will once you see the picture.

Smile Get a front projector instead!

For the price of a 52" you can go online and buy a front projector. You can get 720p projectors under a $1000 and get 1080p projectors from $1300 to $2k. Why not get a real picture, a picture measured in feet not inches.

I think it is crazy not go for a front projection system once you are willing to spend around $1000 or more; definately if you are willing to spend around $2k you have to be crazy not to go for the size. Size matters dude
