List to come....In 1979 I went out drinking one night and got massively hungover and didn't go to work the next day. Called up my buddy Terry about 11 a.m. and went over to his place we decided to drive up to San Francisco (we lived in Palo Alto) and see this new movie we had heard good things about called "Alien" I had seen a very good review but had made myself not read what the movie was about so I would be surprised in the theater, I thought it was going to be lighter like "Star Wars".
Hah! Now mind you, my nerves were shot from the hangover and the headache from said hangover, and I tell you by the time the alien embryo thingy had attached to Jonathan Hurt's helmet I was standing in the aisle at the back of the theater too scared to sit down.(really!) I finally did return to my seat, and squirmed there for the rest of the movie.
When the movie was over and Terry and I walked outside, I was never so glad to see daylight in my life! Terry was walking ahead of me, turned and said: "Did that scare the peanuts out of your M & M's or what?
I have never forgotten it............

This movie STILL scares the poop out of me. I watched it about 6 months ago and still walk around sewer grates when I see them.

1) House of The Dead
2) Blood Rayne
3) Blood Rayne 2
4) In the Name of The King
5) Postal
6) Alone In The Dark
7) Far Cry

Anything Uwe Boll does is scary and any studio and people that give him money to do these movies are even scarier...

I am not much of an horror fan but however...

The original Alien is probably for me the most intense movie I have been part of, the darkness, the tention, the noises, the music...it's very hard to beat.

watched Descent again last night, and had nightmares

ironically, the scariest part is the initial passage-squeeze-through, when you just know: if she hits a dead end, she can't backtrack.

like every best scary moment: it doesn't do it all for you, it does some of the work, then lets your brain envision the rest...YIKES

Agreed. What we imagine is going to happen, or is happening, in the dark, that we can't see or control, is the worst. Your mind goes into overdrive. It's why the original Halloween works so well, you see very little blood at all, but you know Michael is there, somewhere in the darkness, waiting...watching...I sleep with a clock radio by the bed, as I have always fallen alseep to music. Somtimes I put it on a "golden oldies" type station, wouldn't be the first time I've been laying there half awake at 2am, and the song "Mr Sandman", can't remember who does it, but the song from the closing credits of Halloween, I have rolled over and hit the off button so I didn't have to hear it lol

The Decent I believe is one of the better horror movies of the last decade. Everybody's lists are pretty accurate, with most of the same movies popping up. The original TCM really got me when I was young and saw it, and even now, the girls hysterical screams for the last 20 minutes of the picture wear me down.

The number 1 all-time movie to creep me out, is The Shining. I have only seen it the one time, and that been in the last year or so...i could feel it messing with me as I was watching it....I don't think I want to confront the dead woman in the bathroom again anytime soon.....

Nightmare on Elm Street used to give me the creeps as a kid.
The Fly as well.. What was my mom thinking taking me to the drive in for this as a little boy, haha
Communion was pretty dam creepy
War of the Worlds as well for me when I was a kid, not now though
28 Days Later was great.. Not too scary as movies just don't scare me much now, but very good.
The Birds

Some movie where people where trapped in sand at the beach, waiting for the tied to drown them.. Late they came back as a seaweed creatures to kill the person that trapped them in the sane earlier... Anybody have any idea what it is called?

original Halloween will always hold a special fear for me, but the most scareiest flick I have ever seen, and refuse to watch again, is the Entity

No other movie has ever freaked me out like the Entity did.
