Default Moon Audio? Who are they and are they good

When I heard the B&W 683's that I just recently bought the place had a Moon Audio CD player and amplifier. Because I have not heared much about them, then again I did not know a lot B&W before I heared them.

The only company that I really know that makes highend audio is Rotel and Linn.

Can people tell me about all three as I am currently using a Pioneer Elite.

I wouldn't call Rotel high end. Well, entry-level high end, perhaps.

I think you might be thinking of Simaudio (www.simaudio.com). Their stuff is pretty well received in audiophile circles. And they're Canadian too!

I can tell you one thing for sure, if you're buying B&W 683's , Simaudio Moon gear is probably not in your price range lol

That depends what he's looking at. SimAudio's entry-level integrated amp (50wpc) lists at $1,500 CDN , but I know for a fact it can be had for about $1,100. Also, their matching CD player was very well received and you can get it for the same price.

Generally speaking though, they are probably more expensive than what most would be willing to consider.

Yeah that's 3 grand for an entry level Sim CD and amp lol.

Edit> I was looking this Simaudio pre/pro awhile ago:

I seriously dropped a load in my pants when I found out the price tag was 18,000!!!

Edit 2> add in another 18,000 for the matching power amp (5 channels, add more channels add more $$$)

From what I'm seen and read in reviews their built-quality is top-notch as well! Sexy-looking beasts they are!

With all the great speaker manufacturers and other audio companies like SimAudio, Anthem, Bryston, etc....we sure do make some nice sh*t here in Canada!

Yeah, but if you can drop $16,000 for a pair 800 series B&W's I would think your budget could also include 18,000 for a power amp!

I have experience with SimAudio products (see gallery) and they have been fantastic. My latest piece was the LP3 phono preamp, and it was excellent.
