LOL, there goes that stupid survey of tech staff at shops like currys and the like out the window.

The PS3 is not the only thing i think that has made a difference but is the main factor. Samsungs BDP-1000 slunk down to an amazing £350 from the £1000 introduction price it was first at.

It's superb news to hear that the Sony PS3 gave Blu-ray the lead in Continental Europe (which was HD-DVD dominated before PS3 came along).

However I do have to ask:

PS3 sales spike on Amazon UK after Gamer's Day
Added on 20/05/2007.

Apparently Sony's Gamer's Day had a strong effect on consumer interest in PlayStation 3. After the wave of media and impressions about titles like Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Heavenly Sword , rejoiced Brits rushed off to Amazon UK to purchase their very own PlayStation 3.

The site listed the PlayStation 3 as the most sought after item right after Gamer's Day. At that time, Nintendo's "black" DS Lite took the #5 spot, Xbox 360's premium system took the #6 spot, and Nintendo's Wii ran up the pack at #8.

Now, two days later, PlayStation 3 is still enjoying boosted sales at the #4 spot. The next step is for Sony to release some of these heavy hitters to seriously raise some interest in their high-end console.

In the words of Jules Winnfield about the second bolded statement, "EXACT-A-MUNDO!"
I don't see as to how Unchartered: Drake Fortune and Heavenly Sword prepped interest of gamers. It looks boring to me.

I could understand though if it was Lair or Warhawk or DIRT (the REAL catalysts for the PS3 this year) but for those two games, I don't see as to how this has increased sales of the PS3 for this week.

Those two games seem pointless to me

You don't expect everyone to like and dislike the same games as you, do you? I don't care for DIRT, I'll wait for GT5 to really push the racing/driving sim genre but I'm not going to be all negative about DIRT calling it 'pointless', pissing people off in the meantime.
