just bought this game today. i was not really all that impressed with the demo, but i wanted to give this a fair crack of the whip. So far it is okay. Nothing earth shattering, not ground breaking by any means. It is fun to pick up and play.there are a lot of assisted modes in this game that imho take away a lot of the fun and challenge, however you do not have to use all of the assists that the game offers.

The graphics are slick, a few jagged edges here and there, some stutter during graphically intense scenes. Planes and ground textures look very nice and overall everything is rendered very nicely. The sound is top notch. Crank up your system and the explosions will put a smile on your face

The controls are okay. Play for 5 - 10 mins and you will have the hang of it. Some of the missions are very boring, and there is a lot of repetition but it is till fun. I was disappointed that i could not find any online dogfights to join though. I was hoping to see more people online with this one.

I am sure there will be downloadable content, maybe mor eplanes, more missions etc. Overall a good game, i would not say i highly recommend it but it is a good fun game to play

I think its better than you say brett. As of right now there is only TDM for online games, most players are not in ranked and are in player lobbies as u earn XP there as well. Plenty of online, but like you I didnt see many in ranked ... and in all honesty, you dont wanna go into ranked until ur truly confident in your skills .

Dont just go online and start playing, you'll get owned, as you will hardly have anything unlocked. (this comment isnt directed at you brett as Im sure uve spent some time on it) But to other peeps, You can unlock planes and more weaponry by doing campaign.

You can also do online campaign and record videos while playing directly in game.

You can also choose ur difficulty setting for the campaign level and not be stuck with whatever the host chose (this helps on beating levels on higher difficulties for trophies)

Im really diggin the game, I will say this... at first I thought this was just a run of the mill game ... wasnt too impressed (much like brett) but it wasnt till I put more time in it and have perfected certain moves and ways to fly and kill that im loving it .... and im spending most my time on campaign ranking up until I play some more online TDM ...

anybody who plays this a good bit, add me so maybe we can do some online campaign together

PSN under avatar.
