Gladiator and Braveheart are two of movies that are in my top five. Also, really looking foward to Friday The 13th 2 and 2.

Okay, let's have another update on Paramount's catalog Blu-ray plans for 2009. Our industry sources are now telling us that Fatal Attraction is coming in June from the studio, with the second and third installments of Friday the 13th following in July. Other titles we've recently confirmed are in the works for Blu-ray release this year from Paramount (street date TBA, but they ARE coming) include South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, the Gladiator: Director's Cut and Forrest Gump. And as we've reported in the daily column recently, the Braveheart: Special Collector's Edition is also expected this year from the studio. Those are great titles all, and on behalf of The Bits staff, let me just say to the Blu crew up on the Melrose lot how impressed we all by the number and overall A/V quality of your catalog titles in 1080p. May we put in a good word for Galaxy Quest (eventually), The Peacemaker and Once Upon a Time in the West?

EDIT: I'm so wanting Friday 13th part 2 and 3, South Park: BLU, and Forrest Gump, all 4 will be day one purchases.
YESSSS!!!!! cant wait for South park: BLU to come out!!!

Hopefully the 3-D version of Friday the 13th Part 3 will be on the disc as well.

Looking forward to Braveheart and Forrest Gump the most, I could care less about Gladiator, that movie has a few mistakes that's really annoying and the incestuous sub-plot just isn't my cup of tea.

Same here. I mean I liked it, but it is in no way that rewatchable to me. I love Ridley Scott (Alien is by far my favorite film from him) but I will not buy this movie. No replay value.

I will skip all except Galaxy Quest on BD, just give me that and I will be very happy.

I know it's corny and cheesie but if you are a fan of Star Trek there is no way you cannot love this movie.

I only like watching the fight scenes. I have only watched the entire movie once. Overall Gladiator is not a bad movie and definately worth watching. A movie that sucks really bad is Alexander.

Would be nice if they released the film in it's proper shifting aspect ratios presentation.

I've been wondering this as well. It looks like a bleeding Michael Jackson mask, which is scary in itself.

Just like Ridley Scott's latest, Body Of Lies, the action was good in Gladiator, but the story isn't very well-executed. After a few viewings over the years, I now realize how thin & stale the story is.

I'd rather stick to the oldschool Roman epics.
