About Live at Pompeii,...

Quote "And of course the original 1.33:1 version should be added, and fully remastered as well."

With the Live at Pompeii DVD,... if you choose original concert film you will get the 4:3 version. It's the original version that showed in theaters (for a very limited time.) You will only get the concert... all the studio stuff was part of the "extended" version that was later released on VHS, LD, VCD.

I agree about the directors cut being crap... I can't watch that one. I just watch the original concert film.

Default pink floyd, PULSE

I just watched Pink Floyd's PULSE concert on DVD and it was incredible. I've never seen concert with a laser light show so brillient. This would be PERFECT on blu ray. If you have not seen it, I purchesed it from amazon.com because it was not available anywhere else. This concert was just on PBS during a informercial two weeks ago.

If you have not seen it, go get it and you will be happy.

Your Thoughts

I know it's available on the dvd, I watched it a couple of times . I just meant that they should remaster that one as well when they release the Blu-Ray.
The problem is, I like the interview and behind the scenes stuff of recording DSOTM (I know it's staged, but it's cool to watch nonetheless) and the black and white stuff, and that's only in the director's cut. I would like the DC a lot more if it wasn't cropped, I guess. Of course it would still have the extraordinarily bad CGI, but at least you could see the complete footage.
And pmardis2, P.U.L.S.E. was shot on video, so a Blu-Ray release isn't going to do much to improve the video.

And since there already is a lot of overlap of different titles, should this be made a general Pink Floyd thread? It makes sense, there's not a whole lot of titles they could release, so it wouldn't be all that confusing.

They need to release:

Pink Floyd's The Wall (movie)
The Wall - Live in Earle's Court
Live in Pompeii
The Wall - Live in Berlin
Pink Floyd - Pulse
David Gilmour - Live in Gdansk (it is different from "A Night To Remember")

...and one of these needs to include the reunion performances from "Live 8" in HD.

I'm not a big fan of Division Bell as a whole. I like a few songs but that is it. I saw them in Toronto on the Division Bell Tour. It totally rocked.

I'm originally from Erie, PA, so going to Canada was far easier then (I've spend many of my high school summers at Wasaga Beach).

Thanks for he invite, though. If I'm ever up that way again, I'll certainly look you up!

The dog singing with the band is pretty cool.
I was about to say the same thing. The Wall is a good album, but mass overplay burned me out decades ago. I still prefer some of the lesser-known albums like Meddle and Animals. Needless to say, Pompeii is very enjoyable.

I think I'll stick with DSOTM the way it was intended.

I'd love me some Floyd on Blu. The Wall never gets old to me. Pulse would be great as well but I think I read somewhere that it wouldn't look as good as we hoped on Blu because of the way it was filmed. I dunno.

Try and pick up the David Gilmour: Remember That Night! BD. The PQ isn't reference, but the AQ is fantastic and there are enough PF tunes to keep you happy. Not only that.....buy it as it was Richard Wright's last video performance before he sadly passed away.

The guest appearances by David Crosby, Graham Nash and David Bowie are well worth it also.

I have some very fond memories of Canada in the Summer -- Shrines with the Orange Signs, Barie nightlife, girls stuck with their parents for a week with at a beach location . I always think of the Breakfast Club scene with Anthony Michael Hall about the number of girls in the Niagara Falls area he has been with. So funny!

I've never even heard of it, but I would stick with the original as well.
