Question:

inetvideo has the Austin Powers box for $30 (shipped). It looks like the Allience release. Anyone know if there are differences with the US release? Thanks!

The one thing I will say about Alliance is on Sin City, the picture quality is pretty awesome, but the audio is absolutely dreadful. Anytime any dialog from the movie is presented in the mix, all I hear is white noise accompanied by dialog. They did a terrible job with mixing the audio and removing digital noise on Sin City.

Although I don't necessarily agree or disagree with the OP's point of view, I do want to say that the title of his TS could be viewed by many as somewhat "incitefull". I'm sure that's not what the OP's intention was, but it does show that he needs to be careful about how a question is phrased.

He has seen many responses from Canadian members (because of the thread title) and I'm sure they (myself included) took it somewhat as a slight, until we got we into the body of the text. I can only speak for myself here.

I might as well add, since I'm posting this, that had it been the other way around...this thread would have pages and pages of posts from our American friends perhaps thinking the same thing.

Mine does nothing of the sort... sounds incredibly clear!

I must be the only person who likes just the movie. If all Blu's were $12.99 and just had audio selection i'd be over the moon. I'd probably have another 100 blu rays by now too.

What sucks for me is paying for 3 discs when I only use one, having Disney plaster 25 commercials all over the front of the movie. Just to demonstrate the first 15 minutes of "CARS" (my demo material), I have to let the viewer wait at least 5 minutes flicking through BS to get to the movie.

Its horses for courses, depends on what you like. If you want to pay $25 for a movie with all the trimmings then fair enough, but for people like me, just having the movie disc makes me happy.

It's exactly the same, it's not even a bi-lingual set.

Sounds like some problem on your end or a bad disc. The audio is great on my copy and I don't hear this problem.

I dont buy anything from them for this reason, cheap or not they misrepresent items for US releases on Amazon Marketplace all the time

one great thing i'll say about inet is that their customer service has been pretty good. i accidentally ordered a canadian release from them and they were very cool about it. let me return it and paid return shipping

like jw said tho, they constantly misrepresent their movies on amazon marketplace, listing canadian releases on the US release pages

Oh yes I'll be sending it back if I find out it's a Canadian release. So far there are 0 imports in my collection and I'd like to keep it that way.

yeah, nothing against imports i just don't mind waiting for US releases and i would prefer them. in regards to your purchase, jay and silent bob does not look like the import based on their picture (which could be wrong, but hopefully not)

if you do get the import, inet has an awesome livechat option on their website where you can connect with their CS and they'll tell you how to return it

I recently bought Butterfly Effect but never watched my copy yet. My Death Sentence copy is kinda like that...but it does have a main menu for audio and subtitles. But the popup is just sound.

I'm happy with my Sin City purchase from them. I got to see it 3 months earlier, got it for a cheap price, and I don't care for the extra.
