Thanks for the link JasonR. It seems as though the Sammy may not be very far behind the Panny. I think I wil go with the sammy 63a650 plasma. It has to be a big step up from my 61a650dlp (2500:1 contrast ratio) right???

As others have stated the Panny is easily the best of the bunch. That set was my first recommendation. At $2400 on Amazon, not only is it a good deal, but its the best TV you can get next to the Pioneer. Highly accurate colors and great black level that is bested only by the Pioneer Kuro and the new ultra-expensive LED backlit Sony LCD.
I also realize that the TV you currently own is larger which is why suggested the 63" Sammy as an alternative. Its hard to give up real estate even if it does mean a much better picture. However, the Sammy would still be a large improvement over your current set since it will still have better blacks and good color accuracy. Cnet did a review on a model in the same series not too long ago. It doesn't keep up with the best which is what they compared it to, but its still miles ahead of the TV you own. On the other hand, if you see the Panny 800u in person you may be a little disappointed in the Sammy. It really is a much better set. This is also why I pointed you towards that Pioneer since its 60". Another option is the 60" LG which is $3000 shipped on Amazon. Its a little better than the Sammy, but still not as good as the Panny. The best thing you can do is to run over to Worst Buy..eh hem...Best Buy and compare them to determine the best value to you in regards to cost, size, and picture quality.
