What is next, completely spinning the camera around the actors / action the entire movie non stop?

Casino Royale was nothing like that and was a great movie.
You are correct. However, there are scenes in Casino Royale with fledgeling camera movement, and I find those much easier to follow on blu-ray than I did in cinema. Same for the crazy Dark Knight scenes, like the batpod chase and the sonar-conducted fight at the end, to name a few. However, I guess the point is moot until we both sit down and watch it on blu-ray tomorrow. Assuming I find time to do that tomorrow...also assuming you didn't find QoS too bad to consider buying it.

I am not sure.. I am going to rent it first then decide. But I just don't want future bond movies, or any other movie for that matter, to be done in this style of 2 second flashes for the entire movie...

I just hope the director gets the message that it was stupid to make the entire movie this way. Movies are suppose to be enjoyable to watch, not painful

1. GoldenEye (Awesome!! One of the best Bonds ever)
2. Casino Royale (Very good. Craig rocks. Just a tad too long)
3. Quantum of Solace (I really liked this one. Not getting the criticisms)
4. Tomorrow Never Dies (Cool flick albeit a bit campy. Brosnan was in top form)
5. The World is Not Enough (Decent, but not great)
6. Die Another Day (my hatred for this movie is intense!)

umm, James Bond started out at a dark gritty spy and later became a parody of himself. CR is a return to the original Bond. Go watch Dr. No and FRWL and tell me all about the sci fi gadgets. Better yet, go read some of Fleming's books.

I have been a life long James Bond fan who has been collecting memoribila for over 30 years. For years I have enjoyed each Bond film for what it was realising that there would never be a Bond film that would match those of the 60s. They were parodies of their former self, but I enjoyed each one for what it was. Then came Casino Royale (my favorite of the books) and I was blown away. It passed From Russia With Love as the Best Bond Movie EVER! For the modern Bond films (95-present)I would clearly rate CR as the #1 must see Bond movie. Although not nearly as good as CR, QoS would be #2, mainly because of Craig's performance and it closes loose ends from CR. I agree with everyone else about the frantic editing - but there is a good movie in there trying to get out. #3 I would see GoldenEye. It is the best of Brosnan's films, but not Brosnan's best performance. He comes across as a bit unsure of himself. I really think of it as a Timothy Dalton Bond movie starring Pierce Brosnan. #4 would be Tomorrow Never Dies. Not much story or character development, just pure action - but it is Brosnan's best performance as Bond. #5 TWINE. A good concept/stor that fell flat in it's direction and casting of Denise Richards. Brosnan also falls flat trying to be three dimentional and emotional. #6 is DAD. Good start that just gets sillier and sillier.
