FX is already doing a great job hyping the next season even though there is still 5 months until it airs. For the last 2 episodes of Rescue Me, during and after every episode they have been showing either clips from Season One, or really creative CG clips of the logo (The reaper, M-16 and Syth) and I'm really glad to see they are doing this, possibly since some people weren't even aware of what this was before. But I'd expect that over the next few months as filming for Season 2 gets underway that will possibly start to see sneak peaks of upcoming episodes. I know I'm gonna do whatever I can to get the word out about SOA, even though for sure they've got this season coming up it never hurts to build that fan base. I'm gonna have to do some creative thinking and possibly rally up some of the troops here to make SOA Viral.

OMG, Sutter brings us fantastic news on Season 2 and my Henry Rollins dream has come true! I hoped they would align him with the Nords he is too intense and inked up to have played a Fed like speculated before! Bottom line, I am even more pumped for season 2 and I didn't know that was possible, Rollins Rules! Nothing could make season 2 more intense! What does everybody think?? Here's Rollins for those who aren't familiar. And I looked up the definition of the Episode 201 title "Albification" -

PREP FOR SEASON TWO BEGINS


Sorry it's been so long since I've updated. Been a crazy coupla months. Was in Paris with the entire family for spring break. Realized that I have three kids. Three? How the **** did that happen? We had a blast. I almost started a jihad in front of Notre Dame, but was released by French Police with a warning (that's a whole other blog). We did an awesome day of press with Charlie and Katey. I'll blog on this separately when I get some photos of the day. In short, the French ****ing LOVED the pilot. I felt like Jerry Lewis. It was one of the most pleasant media experiences I've ever had. We're going back in October to do more.

We came back from France and I was buried. Finally caught up with the writing.

We're pretty much on schedule. My goal was to have four scripts written and approved by the time we start shooting and we'll do that. Have various drafts of the next four being written and well start breaking stories for 209 next week.

The first episode starts shooting on the 27th. Guy Ferland (who directed more episodes of The Shield than any other director) is directing 201, Albification. Guy did an amazing job on episode 107, The Pull, last season. I'm thrilled to have him kicking off season two.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions about what the 201 title means. I can tell you it's a theme for the season.

My entire, talented cast is back (with the exception of a few, whose agents and managers are twisting my ****ing arm for more cash that we don't have and ultimately undermining their clients whom I won't be able to afford) and we've added a few new characters. As you probably have read, Henry Rollins joins us as AJ Weston. He's a prison hard Aryan walking a fine line between ultra conservatism and violent racism (if a line truly exists). His boss and the brains behind the organization is Ethan Zobelle. That role is still being cast.

As I've said in interviews, this season is all about internal alliances. For me, the big antagonist this season is just a catalyst to ignite the deep, primal conflicts within the club. Lives will be threatened, sides will be taken and Sam Crow will become the biggest threat to the Sam Crow.

The potential storylines for Season 2 is pretty broad. Among the loyalties story that will be the main ongoing theme of this season, we still have 6 other gangs that can be worked into the storylines. Here is a brief breakdown on the other gangs involved in the show.

The Nords - The meth-distributing white supremacist gang, headed by Ernest Darby.
The Mayans - Oakland-based MC, headed by Marcus Alvarez, who control the neighboring territory of Nevada.
The Chinese-American mafia - Operating a counterfeiting ring, headed by Henry lin
The True IRA of Ireland - Supplies SAMCRO with their AK-47's
The One 9'ers - Black street gang to which SAMCRO sometimes sells weapons, headed by LaRoy.
The Italians - Buys guns and stolen merchandise from the Sons, headed by Jimmy Cacuzza

Is Otto going to be out of prison in this season? Why have him in the show if he is just going to sit in prison the entire season

Because Otto is Kurt Sutter, the creator and writer of the show, lol and he's really busy running the show, he doesn't have time to be a major character. He's also married in real life to Katey Sagal who plays Gemma. Besides after Otto slammed agent Stahl's head into the table like that he isn't going anywhere! HAHAHA

He could escape from prison. Besides Otto could be a good character if he was out he could take over or something. and actors that are creators and writers of their own show could have a major role in their own show.

Otto is a fun character, but I'm pretty sure you can't escape and than run an MC in such a small town where everybody knows you, not to mention he would have to kill Clay and Jax to do so. Besides pretty sure Sutter plans on keeping Otto behind bars for quite some time, and that opens up more storylines for introducing new characters via the penile system

Last time i checked the Son's have the head cop in their pocket so Otto won't be getting arrested any time soon and introducing new characters is cool but the Son's arent getting any new members are they the only one's I know of is the other gangs.

Well just because they have Chief Unser in their pocket for a few more months until retirement, doesn't mean only the town police would be looking for an escaped prisoner. They do bring the FBI in for cases like that, lol. The Sons might also be getting new members, or atleast members from other chapters. If you read Sutter's blog I posted yesterday he mentioned that some actors agents are busting his balls right now, so he might not be able to afford everyone back, and that there will be several new characters introduced this season but he didn't say who. With filming of season 2 not starting until next Monday, it is probably just way to early to speculate on who will and won't be back. Just gotta wait for another update and some set photos, which Sutter loves to post

That sucks that not every body will be back shit I like all of the Son's members won't he just try and get a partner if he can't afford the actors.

The SOA previews have been runnin wild on FX, I thought it was only during Rescue Me, but they're on everytime I watch FX now, saturating the hell outta that network!

Our favorite leather-clad badasses from Sons of Anarchy are back with new episodes, new guest stars and new troublemaking this September. The FX show begins shooting its second season April 27.

We caught up with show star Katey Sagal and her husband and show creator, Kurt Sutter, at the TV Land Awards this weekend to find out what's in store for the motorcycle gang of Charming, Calif.

"This season is going to be about all the internal conflicts that happen at the club," Sutter tells us. "And I think the club is going to become its own worst enemy. We're still figuring it out, and we're still doing some casting."

One special guest who has been cast is rocker Henry Rollins who, Kurt says, "Is going to play this hard-boiled Aryan guy who is somewhat reformed, and his boss is still being cast. We'll have some news on that in a week or two. "

As for Katey's character, she says she's happy playing a tougher role: "I like her pretty mean. She doesn't really think she's mean. Her intention is to protect, but she's pretty mean."

We start shooting season two on Monday. Had our read-thru this week. It was great to see everyone around the table again. Not to gush, but it's such a cool ****ing pack of folks. I learned an important lesson from Shawn Ryan and Scott Brazil during my tenure at The Shield. When you are asking everyone to work harder for less money you have to provide two things -- superior material and an environment where people will feel safe, supported and loved.

(Everyone from the EP's to the PA's work for way less on this show. Apparently we are the new model for TV -- quality drama on a "creative" bargain basement budget. The creativity being generated by my superman line producer Kevin Cremin.)

So we continue to try and generate quality material and the cast and crew continue to bond. It's a great ****ing set. Guerrilla film making with everyone firing on all cylinders. I saw it happen with Chiklis, Walton and Kenny and it's happening on SOA as well. The actors have become family and in our case, a club. Charlie, Ron, Boone, Kim, Theo -- they all hang out, drink, play golf together. Girls too. Katey, not unlike Gemma, has become the maternal glue. It's just in her nature to take care of those around her. God knows she gets a lot of practice with me.

Had a great meeting with an actor today whom I hope will be be playing Ethan Zobelle. Zobelle is a new proprietor in Charming and the leader of an ultra conservative organization. Can't reveal any names until the deal closes, but this guy is a fascinating actor from a very talented family. That character shoots Friday so I hope it closes early this week.

I appreciate everyone continuing to check in with my blog. What started out as a self-absorbed platform for random opinions that no one gave a shit about, has turned into a very useful tool for Sons of Anarchy. I'm convinced the blogosphere had a lot to do with our grassroots ratings growth last season. I'm hoping by keeping you all up to speed on my process, I can get you as excited as I am about season two of SOA.

I'm gonna task my writer-on-set producer, Jack LoGiudice, with grabbing candid shots of the episodes. I'll try to post non-spoilers as frequently as possible. I may b****, slam doors, rip agents new a******s, sigh heavily, but I am well aware that I've got the coolest gig in Hollywood. I'm a grateful cat.

Sources tell us exclusively that Adam Arkin has joined FX's dark, violent (and awesome) motorcycle-gang series Sons of Anarchy for a multi-episode arc. Arkin will play Ethan Zobelle, a season-two antagonist for SAMCRO.

Unlike his current cute and fuzzy Ted character on Life, Arkin's new role on Sons of Anarchy will be anything but adorable. So what variety of wicked is this Ethan fellow? Here's what we can tell you...

Spoilers: Spoiler Alert!



Arkin's Ethan is described as a white supremacist who arrives in Charming, Calif., to open a new small business, reportedly a cigar shop. And you know who loves cigars, don't you? Ron Perlman's Clay Morrow, aka the undisputed boss of Charming and the sitting president of the Redwood Original. Clay doesn't love ultranationalist thugs, so skulls will no doubt be cracked before season's end.

Actor-musician Henry Rollins joined the Sons of Anarchy cast last month as another neo-Nazi baddie. (Kick his ass Jax!)

P.S. Don't fret, Life fans, Arkin could easily wedge this role in between seasons two and three, should Life be blessed with a last-minute cancellation reprieve from Ben Silverman at NBC or even Bonnie Hammer at USA.

I must admit, I am an Adam Arkin fan due to 'Life' but when I read Sutter's blog about someone from a famous family to play an Aryan, Adam Arkin would have been the last person to ever come to mind, lol. But Sutter always seems to know what he's doing, and this could by far be one of the greatest casting decisions of the new fall season. I trust whatever Kurt sees in the great Adam Arkin, I'm just so used to mild mannered Ted Early on Life. I wish the show could have gone on, but from everything I hear it's pretty much very dead, which is horrible news. At least Arkin has found some more work very fast.

Sutter has posted up to very very vague photos under the caption "Episode 201" not quite sure what they are supposed to mean, but you see paper targets in the first one and a corporation sign in the next. Thanks for the help Kurt!
