I got mine for a lil less than the price stated by the OP. And that was a month ago. Def not a chance anyone should miss if they're in the market for the best in plasma!

FYI, I'm a Pioneer dealer and the prices just dropped from the manufacturer.

My cost on a PRO-101FD is now under $2500.

If a 101fd (signature series) cost is under $2500, you should have no problem getting a 111fd negotiating the price at best buy magnolia to about $2300-$2400

I called a local magnolia store and its magnolia mgr told me if the $2499 price can be verified that it was on sale for that low at any best buy at any point in time, she would do it even though it is $2799 currently.

edit: I just called the sacramento store that one of the posters on this thread said they had it selling for $2499 at some point...the magnolia rep confirmed they did have it for $2599 at one point becasue sysytem showed historical pricing..and $2599 is the lowest its ever been. But he said if an open box ws available - it is 10% discounted additional to the outgoing new sealed box price.

Even after the 10% discount on Kuro open items thats still kinda high, seeing as my local BB sells the 111FD [open item] for $1899. One should def bargain @ BB these days. Thats what I did!

That prices for the Pro-111 and Pro-151 that you currently see are good until April 14th 2009. If anything were to change I would let people know on the 12th of April or after the 14th of April.

What's missing with that display and what's wrong with it. Did it come back from service or is it the display model? That's why below what Pioneer even sales it to the store for. If I cost $1899 I would buy it in a heart beat and place it in my daughter's room. The regular Pioneer 5020 you could get for that price, but an Elite is something different.

It seems that you are the same person thinking that you could purchase a house with no money down, but then default on the property.

I have a Pioneer 4360 now. I want to pull the trigger on one of the 60"s but with my wedding coming next year I may not live to enjoy it if I do.

Okay I have to ask. What is the difference between black market and grey market?

Gray market means that item has entered the country through some source other than that country's importer. The item will have the international warranty for the country of origin, but not the warranty for the country of sale.

grey market is product either bought overseas and has accessories/stand/remote or any or all of those things removed and then sealed. Most of the time product serail number on unit is actually scratched out physically to prevent tracing origin of the unit and sometimes to hide theft that does happen from warehouses storing electronics products.

items that are grey market are not warrantied by manufacturer (for our purposes - the USA support/warranty department)...however i have found some manufacturers still say they will warranty it here in the USA, so it depends if you luck out.

in some cases products being sold by unauthorized dealers are actually legitiamte same units you would buy at the actual store or authorized dealer, that you can pick up at a unbelievable price.

but its not advised.

I will pick the 111fd this weekend from bestbuy for a little under $2500 becasue i negotiated it with the magnolia mgr who has room to work on pricing on this unit since it is discontinued.

I have never experience serial #s crossed out by legitimate US companies selling Grey Market Photographic Products in over 30 years of purchasing. Though I would normally purchase a non-Grey Market piece of Photo equipment, I have never received any product lacking a serial #.

thanks because i was gonna buy the 111fd on the 30th the last night but then decided to wiat til tmrw or a few days because i specifically asked teh bestbuy guy that this deal is gonna stand for how long? when will it end? he told me until we sell out all these tvs is when it ends.
So then i went home talked wiht parents n decided to get it tmrw, so the next day i went back ot the same bestbuy the price changed from 2599 to 2799, so i asked one of the magnolia worker y did the price change? they said the special was only til the 30th then i told them the whole situation with the other guy the night before n they said oh we don't know but we cannot do anything about the price. ahah sucks over night it goes up 200 dollars, i mean its still not too bad but thats still 200 which just about pays for tax. oh well... so now i think i will return to bestbuy on sunday n see if theres anything new? thanks blove

I just came back from mine and they had new signs, non-floor model signs, for $2499 for the 111fd and $4999 for the 151fd. I assume this may become the regular price for boxed units.

i was just at bestbuy earlier tonight around 845 right before they closed at 9. so i walked into the magnolia department with 2 of my friends just browsing to see if i can bump into a deal or something. so the 2nd tv i saw was the 111fd that i wanted it was on the top wall mount, so i glanced at the price tag then rubbed my eyes again n looked once again but closer i did see 2499 it wasnt a blur vision.
so i went up to just a random worker which he was busy, after he was done he helped us, i asked him how long is this price gonna last he says the deal is gonna end today and that this price will no longer be Mon since they will be closed tmrw (sun) for Easter. Im not sure if they were bsing but does it matter? they said theres a 30 day price match or what not.
i then tell him i wanna buy the tv tonight, so he then goes n checks if theres any in stock, there was 1 so i said i was gonna take it but to be sure we measured the box n then go out n measure my moms suv that i brought which was about an inch n a half too short in height. We go back in to tell him the news n asks if i can come back to pick it up Mon? which he had to ask the manager but it went fine. so i officially bought the tv but do not officially have it hahaha. sorry about ranting on guys
