I know that PTA is personally supervising the transfer and it's been mentioned as a Fall release...I'm crossing my fingers that we'll get an announcement soon.....hopefully for October or November..

I thought Sony had officially announced that PDL would be released on September 15th, but Amazon.com are now just showing a pre-order option with no release date specified.

Has it been postponed, or was the Sept 15th date just one of those unconfirmed rumours?

it was tentative for 9/15, but PTA is supervising the transfer so it might be taking a bit longer...I've heard 11/17.....

I couldn't find a topic on this so,

What happened to this release? I believe it is Anderson's best movie. Last I heard he was working on the Blu-ray, that was to come out this past September.

Also, does anyone know the new website that Anderson's fan site cigarettesandredvines.com became? I know they moved but don't know the new name. They use to have news on things like this.

His site is now called ptanderson.info, by the way. There's also no news on that site, just the Magnolia Blu-ray announcement.
I like all of Paul Thomas Anderson's movies, so I'd like them all on Blu-ray, sooner or later. Since PDL is released by Sony, I'm not concerned about the PQ and AQ, but I hope the rest will be reference quality as well.

Can I ask, are you just guessing the date?

As it has been said, PTA WAS helping with the transfer but that news was when the news of a Sept. 2009 release was rumored.

Sony has moved the date around at least two or three times. Am I guessing? Yes, I don't have an exact date, but I have enough inside sources to confidently state that it's coming in the 1st quarter (again, unless Sony decides to hold off again or tie into something else).

Frankly I'm surprised it was pushed out in late November as a tie into Funny People's release.
