E3 2009 - Uncharted: Among Thieves is the best game of E3 2009 !

gears of war on the ps3 would be a good enough E3 imo. if that was the only headline in the whole show i would call it a success.

but here are my predictions

1. 50 dollar price cut w/packaged game
2. new psp model
3. netflix integration
4. bigger push for UMD legacy titles as well as PS1 classics (available right after the conference)
5. giant enemy crabs

most likely to not happen at E3 but at a later date
1. slim ps3 release date
2. GoW3 release date/ new trailer
3. sf4 on psp
4. FF7 remake

Funny, everyone here and on gaf seems to think the slim won't be announced at e3... does the rest of the net know something I don't? I've posted some of my predictions in other places before, might as well consolidate:

1. Slim PS3.
2. New PSP, and I'm sticking with my cellular data for PSN only prediction (mainly because if it doesn't have one, I'm getting an iPhone; wifi is NOT ubiquitous enough).
3. Classic games store: because dreams die hard. And going by the new PS1 game icons, they might actually call them classic games (as opposed to retro, old school or whatever). I'm going to assume mainly Sega hardware, with a bit of Neo-Geo and TurboGraphix thrown in the mix. Hopefully includes Saturn and Dreamcast.
4. Mass Effect 1 and 2 announced for PS3 (who am I kidding, SCEA still doesn't get RPGs).
5. GT 5 is shown... I think I'll go really nuts and say they show off damage.
6. They'll probably talk about new firmware features that go live the day of the show... probably just cross-game voice chat.
7. I'm not sure how to reconcile my prediction of a classic game store without them announcing PS2 BC. I guess it's both or neither.
8. They'll show off Demon's Soul rather unique online features and announce it for the fall... oh wait, see #4's parenthetical.
9. Some sort of proper Youtube XMB integration for movies / TV shows. Rather have Hulu, but I get the feeling Sony prefers youtube.
10. Motion sensing wand controller. Will be slightly more embarrassing than whatever Microsoft shows off in regards to motion control (i.e., 3D camera).

Sony brings the 'Heat' - A guess if I may, Rockstar very briefy touched on the bank robbery scene from Heat in GTA IV, so if I was a betting man, I would have a shifty side bet that the Rockstar exclusive title is going to be based on the film Heat (fingers crossed it has some aspects of the manhunt game incorporated ...)

2-GTA5 San Andreas style and exclusive to ps3.
3-MGS4 and FF stays with Sony.
4-A beatemup game with celebrities (Rihanna VS J LO) in which decent amount of clothes can be torn.

Mere hours after I post that prediction I find out Secret of Monkey Island is coming to the 360 (German ratings board leak).

Sony's classic game store better be real and I hope they include PC games, especially including LucasArts adventure games. I'm really glad Sony stopped pretending that electronic gaming started when the PS3 launched, can't wait to see what they do with their new perspective on life.

i hope it happens too, the store could totally use some non sony games. especially arcade ports!

That could be hint that the next GTA is PS3 exclusive.

my personal hopes and dreams would be a gran turismo 5 release date and video subscription service a la netflix. originally i wanted a new BC sku with reduced price but since marvel vs capcom 2 is coming to PSN there is no need for BC for me.

I'd like Speedball 2 - Brutal Deluxe for the PSP to be announced, would fit perfectly. Got it for Amiga, CD32, GBA, PC and XBLA. Though I want the original version not the tarted up version they put on XBLA.

My other hope for E3 is that M$ completely implodes taking all their crap with it. Not very likely, but you never know

• Large MMO Push - with info/fanfare around Free Realms coming to PS3, DCUO, and The Agency
• Some sort of Qore announcement
• Some sort of netflix anouncement

I wonder - with DCUO and The Agency slated for early 2010, you would think we'd start to hear more about them - they've been pretty low key (even with some substantial gameplay samples available for DCUO). I wouldn't be surprised if the MMOs on the PS3 concept is part of the big announcement.

- Motion controller - might show a prototype, last time I heard they weren't ready so who knows.
- I would like to see Mass Effect 2 make it's way to PS3
- I won't hold my breath but would like FF7 remake
- Gran Turismo release date!
