Caught the video yesterday on an email, and didn't realize that it was as recent as it is. There are several YouTube videos of it, one having over 9 million hits (yes, 9 million) at the time of this post.

Susan Boyle's performance brought the kind of magic only the truest of stories can bring. What a real-life dream come true!

I just read a CNN article on her evening as well. Here's the link:

I'm not blwon away by her voice but she can sing. I'm glad as otherwise she may never have lived it down. Though I don't respect that her aim was to be 'as big' as another singer. But that's just me.

This lady rocks! I was shocked when I watched it just now . I really like her, she has a fiery personality. That show seems much better than what we get in American Idol.

It also made the judges look like complete morons.

Which is good, anything that makes Simon look like an idiot is a-ok by me.

And Susan F**kin' NAILED that song.

I got goosebumps when I saw that clip - pretty freakin' awesome!

Anything that puts Simon Cowell in his place is an instant classic. Actually, I think she put everyone in their place with that performance. Thumbs up to Susan Boyle!!!

If you haven't seen the video, she brought the crowd to their feet within 30 seconds. This, after they snickered at her and her dream.

Just on that one link it's up to almost 12.5 million views. You add all the others and it's almost 20 million.

As impressive as her voice is, it was her courage to get up on that stage that really impressed me.

Truely a great example for anyone who needs to believe in themselves more.

How much could it possibly have bothered you if you know who's lyrics they are??

That video is absolutely amazing. The only thing worth watching tonight was Bones, so I watched this video at least a dozen times alongside Bones and working out. Absolutely fracking incredible, amazing, geesh, like inaguration, Superbowl, etc good.

I admire your post, since you are obviously correct. However, as evidenced by the abundance of discussion over this woman around the world, it is apparent that people will often associate looks with other aspects of people's lives. For example, if you're walking alone in a dark alley, would you rather encounter a young, attractive woman in a sundress or or a huge, buffed-out guy wearing gang colors? The guy might be more docile than the girl, but chances are you would rather encounter her as opposed to the male. As a person you likely carry certain associations about both of them.

Not saying it's right (or wrong). Just saying that it is extremely common.

is it wrong if i choose the buffed out guy

that was pretty good, the expressions from the american idol guy were hilarious. Think the look on the young girl in the audience before she started singing really shows what is wrong with music these days. Very cool to see something like that happen and i am very happy for susan

I think that's the first time a song like that has gotten to me that easily outside a movie, maybe the audience's reaction helped, I don't know, but I never understood getting emotional to something like a national anthem until I heard that. I'd kinda like them to fly her first class to replay that as an American Idol elimination guest performance, I think it'd mean a heck of a lot more to 35 million people than Lady Gaga's April Fool's joke.
