Default Samsung LCD with HDMI stupid question

Ok, so i have a really stupid question but I haven't figured it out.

I just got a Bell TV HD Satellite receiver hooked up to my Samsung LCD via HDMI. The problem I have is when i change channels my TV says "No signal detected" and the screen goes blue (this is normal when there is no signal) then a second later the screen comes back. The same happens with my PS3 when it loads a movie, it goes from dashboard to blue screen then to the movie. Which doesn't bother me but the satellite thing does bother me. I don't want to see a blue screen everytime i change channels. My brother has a samsung LCD and same Bell freceiver and his doesn't do this, any thoughts?

First, have you checked the settings with the satellite box? Also, I have a Sammy LCD, and sometimes I get the no signal detected thing when I switch to blu-ray as well (however not with changing channels as is your case), and I know it has something to do with the inputs and the way it is set-up on my Harmony remote due to the way Samsung's funky input menu works.

So the box doesn't offer an HDMI or component setting? Interesting...what type of Tv do you have?

I'd bet on it.

Something is odd about it, though - if it's long enough to lose signal from multiple inputs, sounds like the handshake is freaking out on the TV side.

only setting is output type 720p/1080i/ tv aspect ratio 4:3/16:9. What type of setting would you be thinking of? I have never seen any other settings.. including our Cable TV boxes only have output resolution options 720p/1080i i have never seen any other settings

the box is Bell HD 6131 which is Echostar/Dishnetwork receiver

TV is samsung LCD (forget model) but most samsung LCD tvs appear similar in settings, check my HT Gallery for the pic of the TV

HDCP- dunno, as it does the same thing with my PS3 when loading from dashboard to movie..... but with the satellite it's bugging me big time

I'll look up this model, as I have DirecTv and I am not familiar with Dish boxes, and I'll get back to you with some info, I hope.

It sounds to me like this is more of an issue with the specific TV. I have seen other TVs do this, whenever you change the source (even if it is the channel), it thinks it loses the signal and gives you the error message but as soon as it sees a signal again it comes back. Unless there is a setting in the TV itself that lets you turn off this warning, then I doubt there is much you can do about it.
Good luck with whatever you do.

Is the dish properly oriented to the satelite? Maybe the tuner is having problems because the dish isn't tuned. Or maybe it is a bad cable or connection from the dish to the tuner? Just throwing out some things here. I've had a lot of "problems" that I've spent a lot of time dealing with only to find that it was a loose or unplugged cable.
