Disney(Buena Vista) and Sony seem to be leading the BD charge right now with high quality transfers and audio quality of their movies. They use 50GB discs and seem to have a better handle on what they are doing. It seems clear to me that Warner most notably after this Blood Diamond fiasco is making it's BD offerings suffer because of HD DVD.
Disney has delivered totally top-notch stuff with movies like Pirates, DejaVu, Ladder 49 etc, and Sony nas put out fantastic stuff with Casino Royale, Black Hawk Down, Rocky Balboa, and Pursuit oh Happyness. I can only hope that Warner and other duel format supporting studios can seriously start taking advantage of BD's added disc space. I do not want to see another Blood Diamond video incident on a different new release movie, especially one that is so much of a AAA title like Blood Diamond. |
