For dragon lovers, the scene near the end with the dragons including dragons fighting other dragons is just amazing. I don't think I've ever seen that many dragons on screen at the same time before. That alone is worth the price of admission as they say. It would look out of this world on blu-ray.

And, given the similarities, I first saw the "Eragon" trailer, and said, "Wait a minute, Jeremy Irons is playing the GOOD guy?? "

I have never seen a 16 sided die, ive seen 12 and 20 however.

More to your point, if you really want good choke factor I recommend the 100 sided die, there would be no question on if this one will actually get the job done.

About In the Name of the King ... people say the director only makes bad movies ... but then how come people still hire him to be a director? Is it cuz no other director wants to do a movie with a bad script?
Black-mail photo's. And they must be doozies.

Awful, huh? I thought it was bloody hilarious.

Well, Uwe Boll has made some really really bad ones; "House of the Dead" and "Alone in the Dark" being the worst. I thought "In the Name of the King" was just okay. Honestly, though, I thought that "BloodRayne," "Postal," and "Seed" were decent (albiet in a bad way). I don't know how me manages to find work still, but sometime last year, there was a petitition going around. If one million people signed it, he would never make a movie again; that petitition gained a lot of signatures very quickly.

Boll seems to act like a jerk sometimes too. Hm, how does he stay in business?!

I'd still say that D&D is still a step better than all of Uwe Boll's work.

I guess I'll check it out. I found out the movie uses real prostitutes in some kind of harem scene! What's the sequel like?

Both netflix and amazon list an "Unrated" version ... but the R-rated version on amazon has the same exact run time ... what gives? Does that mean the Unrated version adds less than a minute?

I'm acutally not sure how much different the R and unrated cuts of "BloodRayne" are. I've only seen the unrated version, and it had quite a lot of blood and gore. And yep, it had a scene where there were nude prostitutes all over the place. Between all that and some of the fight scenes, I thought it was a fun movie; something of a guilty pleasure. It's just not great in terms of quality story and characters, and it resembled very little of the original game.

"BloodRayne 2" was horrid, actually. It had hardly any violence or sex in it, and only a few fight scenes. This only left a bad plot and story, and some uninteresting characters. Thus, the movie came off as very boring, imo.

I heard before that a new movie, "BloodRayne 3: Warhammer" is in the making. I think that, like the game, it'll take place around WWII. I'm waiting for all three to come out in a Blu-Ray box set (at least, assuming that #3 is anything like #1).

The sad thing is that with a proper script, a good director and some decent actors D&D could have turned out to be a great movie trilogy.
They have already made a great D&D movie. It is the sequel you bemoan without seeing it.

Wrath of the Dragon God was endorsed as true to D&D by the creator of D&D, Gary Gygax.

The second film was made relying on a veteran D&D player as a consultant. Even minor details like the priest being unable to use edged weapons were incorporated into the sequel. The sequel is a very different style from the original.

Well in the D&D world, Gary Gygax means as much as that big shot director behind The Departed. And Gary Gygax did endorse the second D&D film, Wrath of the Dragon God.

Yeah but in the real world, nobody knows who Gyno is and everybody knows who Scorsese is, the people of Fantasia after it's been destroyed by The Nothing, still know who Scorcese is. No comparison.

Jay and Silent Bob -- the one on blu-ray -- that was awful too. It makes me afraid to try Dogma since it has those two annoying characters in it.
Yup, it's confirmed you're choice in movies kinda sucks.

Transformers is getting a sequel because it made back it's budget in theaters.

D&D was in theaters until the owners of said theaters got sick of cleaning the puke out of the aisles from the people disgusted with the movie.

More people know who Gary Gygax is than who Scorsese is, I'd bet.

Gary Gygax is a co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons. You are right there is no comparison. Gary Gygax means a whole more. Every RPG, whether table top or video game, owes its existence pretty much to him.

Jade, I wasn't talking about Transformers. I was talking about Transmorphers.

The sequel is on blu-ray. The original was just terrible. Very cliche.

That was the funniest thing I've read all day, and the most true. You are the internet winner of the day, sir.
