Yes the 160's went away and to my ears and taste these Monitor Silvers out perform them or at least maybe better put more well rounded and definitely a different flavor of sound that I preferred .There so smooth with a velvet like sound , very accurate, super broad sound stage . Outstanding highs but not fatiguing what so ever . I spent a few hours demoing the Silver 1's , Klipsch RP 160-m Book shelves and RP 280-f floor Standers . All outstanding speakers but to my ears and application the Monitors won me over being so smooth especially on the top end "highs" and so smooth they were putting me in a trance lol . I could close my eyes and it felt like I was front row with a live band . I was very impressed also though with the Klipsch and they wowed me to but in a different way and again outstanding!
I highly recommend listening to some Monitor silvers for those who haven't . Depending on your taste and needs I think you'll be very impressed .
When I got home they sounded as good if not better as they were a perfect match with my Nad 356bee . Even though I Just used a entry level Onkyo CD player vs at the dealer with some audiofile quality music on a thumb drive .

Very cool. Aces High, Andrew, speaks highly of the Silver series too. I haven't heard those but have heard the Gold and really liked them. Good to see you posting.

Just a little update on my Silver book shelves .
Probably have over a 100 hours on them and about 60 on my Nad c568 .
It sounded great before but now as elevated to amazing .
Such a beautiful silky smooth sound with outstanding detail without being fatiguing. These are the only speakers I've ever owned that I can listen for hours and feeling there to bright but yet has amazing detail with a huge front stage . These speakers combined with my Nad 356 bee and c368 is a match made in heaven .
I can see some Silver floor standers in the near future even though I feel I don't need them lol .

Bump !!

Update still loving these MA Silver 1's👍
Best speakers I've ever owned for 2 channel there absolutely delightful in all areas .
Been buying new music for months instead of constantly needing to upgrade gear and digging up old music I've had for years that has been given new life .
The only thing I can possibly see in my future is possibly adding a Nad amp to the 356bee and or some tower MA's . But I'm in no rush and it's not a need more of a desire not even a want . Just the audiophile in me fighting the upgrade feeling .
This modest 2 channel setup I've got now is a match made up in heaven and couldn't be happier .
Just thought I'd throw a update out there to all my MA brothers and sisters 😁
Now that the newness has worn off they still overwhelm me with their sound quality in all areas and seem to keep sounding better !
Anyone thinking of making a change I can't recommend Monitor Audio enough and to give them a listen and if you can match them up with NAD it's a match made in heaven .

What is the NAD you have there? I have a NAD amp I use for my surround sound but I plan on hooking up 8 speakers in 4 rooms just for music and will need another amp for that.

Also any recommendations for outdoor speakers, and also in ceiling speakers?

Thanks
