Did you also hate the Transformers movie? These movies should be set to overdrive. I don't see anything wrong with the way this is turning out.

The cartoons we grew up with as children were horrible if you look back at them now. With the exception of Robotech/Macross which was rather deep. There were a few episodes of GI Joe and the movie that were good but the series as a whole wasn't great.

The baroness was the only thing I liked. I could tolerate this movie if Channing Tatum wasn't in it, he seems mildly retarded in his interviews. Mini John Cena.

I enjoyed The Mummy and Van Helsing for what they were - so I'm looking forward to this too. Not expecting Oscar material, but it should be a hoot.

That is a very good way to describe it. Not Oscar material, but probably a fun popcorn movie.

the story in transformer was stupid, but the feel, action and everything else was the way it should have been. The joe's nver had cyborg suits, and they never did any jumping around missles. They were "American heroes." They did things that normal could do. they were not super robot ninjas.

Hmmmmm....jury out on this one until more information is available...it looks like it could be absolutley horrible or a fun popcorn movie....

I have to agree with the statement that, taken as a 'Van Helsing' like movie, it could provide a few hours of entertainment....

We'll see....

G.I. Joe...the movie that sucked harder than Traci Lords.

And knowing is half the battle.

when people say "popcorn movie" do they just mean "something I can watch after shutting my brain off" ?

Yes. I've generally heard a "popcorn movie" being made reference to movies that are not serious, but are light hearted enjoyable movies that you shut your brain off when you watch. I just showed my co-worker this trailer and it was better the 2nd time around. I'll go this see this. I think it will be fun.

The CGI looks good, and the movie appears to be well made. Casting Quaid appears to be a BIG mistake. In my opinion they should have gone with "fresher" faces for some of the roles. The last part with the missiles, looks fake (more than usual ). However, the trailer is much better than the first one I saw.
