It's pretty funny how some of the most horrible, reviled recent movies are so well-liked around here. Reading these forums, you'd never know that such abominations as Terminator Salvation, Chuck and Larry, and pretty much every retarded slasher movie of all time were despised by most of the general public.

Since you were so amused that people like movies you don't like, I thought I'd point out something you own that hardly anyone paid money to see in the theater. We all have different tastes in movies and we all like different movies for different reasons. I don't know what's funny about that.

Was The Day After Tomorrow reviled by almost everyone? $544 mil worldwide gross. No one wanted to see Crank 2, which brought in $13 mil in the US.

I'm done with the back and forth posting. I, like everyone else on here, will continue to purchase movies I think are worth owning.

Dude, "Chuck and Larry..." was waaaay worse. Adam Sandler=Ladies Man? Most unbelieveable concept ever! Every gay in the movie was an awful stereotype! It was like an extended Wayans Brothers' sketch with fewer black people! I've read several complaints against the "stereotypical twins" in "Transformers 2", but none against this movie? The "hero" gets applause for trying to trick the government into giving them benefits that gays had to fight for. Um, okay. Makes the ending of "Big Daddy" seem realistic. (In fact, the gay dudes in "BD" were more realistic, which is why "Chuck" caught me so offguard!) Only movie I've ever really enjoyed of Sandler's was "Happy Gilmore".

Don't go judgin' me by my BD collection. I'm only in it for the sights and sounds. So big, dumb action movies are dominant in my collection. Dramas and such don't really need the upgrade in my opinion.

Again.....what's your point? Crank 2 has better scores than The Day After Tomorrow on RT and IMDB....so what exactly are you trying to say here, that the more money a movie makes, the better it is? Meet the Spartans made $85 million, look at how much better and more popular it is than Moon and The Hurt Locker

I know this is not directed at me, but nobody is judging BD collections. That's totally cool if you like certain movies that "the general public despise" (quoting Jamal). But that's just the point. If you can like movies other people loathe, then don't criticize people for liking a movie. Bash on the actual movie all you want, but what Jamal said earlier criticized the forum members for our general taste in movies, which is hypocritical.

Maybe you should look up the definition of hypocrisy, because I think you're a little fuzzy on that one. It's not hypocritical to own something you think is terrible.

YOU are the one that started criticizing people for liking this movie, one you deem to be terribe. Someone pointed out a film that you own, that OTHERS find to be terrible - just to point out that we all have different tastes, and what you like is not what everyone likes and vice versa. Instead of moving on at that point, you proceeded to pick a movie from their collection, completely missing the whole point. You picking a movie from Mr. Cinema's collection means nothing because he is not the one criticizing people for owning certain movies - he is advocating that everyone has individual tastes.

I guess I misread then. I just thought using a movie you actually paid money to own as an example of bad taste certainly looked hypocritical to me.

Yes. Believe it or not I can't control what movies I receive as gifts, movies that my girlfriend buys, movies that I receive as promotional items from work, movies that I blind buy and end up not liking, etc. Whatever man, have fun being narrow-minded and not thinking outside the box
