ALTHOUGH; I would love it if Smith does become Bond, and gets rid of the womanizing patterns of the character... The trait i dislike most in Bond.

I think Will Smith should star in an action movie with guns and cool chase scenes. They can even give him a partner to add some humor too it......maybe Martin Lawrence. He doesn't have to travel throughout Europe, they can Americanize it and have it set in Miami or something. I think that sounds like a good idea. What do you guys think?

I agree with you. I hope they don't make a black Riddler with Eddie Murphy either.

It'd be like if they made a female Bond or female Riddler ... being against it doesn't make you sexist.

I do think they should do a new franchise that features a sexy female agent though.

People complained that the Earthsea movie made all the characters white (even though Kristin Kreuk is half Asian and there is a black guy in the movie) instead of the racial mix found in the books ... so it should be okay to complain the other way around too if they make Bond black.

I don't know about Bond, but I think Will Smith would make a good secret agent in some other franchise. I also think Daniel Henney (who played Agent Zero in X-Men Origins Wolverine) would make a good secret agent too. I would rather see team work in a movie instead of a lone ranger style.

Bond should definitely be black. And it should be none other than Kirk Lazarus to play the role. I just don't think anybody else could pull it off. I'm surprised no one else has suggested Kirk. Just goes to show how much you guys know about actors. jeesh

I'll make the call right now. After the next Bond, Craig will announce "I've done all I can with the character" and move on. EON will cast against type to "keep the franchise fresh and exciting."

I heard that one of the stipulations of the films being made based on the character is that he would always be played by a British man. Is this wrong? Would they ever truly let an American play Bond?

But yeah, I'm against the idea of making him Black for the sake of him being the "first Black Bond". Some people were voting for Obama for similar reasons. It's disgusting. Giving preferential treatment to Blacks isn't racial equality, it's racially biased. If the next dude who they choose to be Black, that's fine, but they don't need to set out thinking "let's make Bond Black this time". That's weak.
