By myself with no kids and wife that always talks and asks "what she say", "what is going to happen" like I know what's going to happen. etc.

who cares. If I am there, it is live, if I am not, recorded, if I miss something streaming (if it exists), when series that I like (and watched on TV) come out then I buy the BD.

To me, if you record a live event, and watch it later, it's still "live" to me, as I'm seeing it the first time. Watch when i can, record when I can't ejoy no matter what, and if all else fails buy it on bluray!

Sitting up in bed.
That's how I spend most of my day anyways... so it kind of works out fine.

NFL - Live. There is no other way.
I prefer to watch programming First-Run if possible.

Depends:

Sports: Live

Regular TV: Recorded (skip the commercials, a huge deal)

I have all my shows on series recording and then I watch them about 10-20 minutes after they start depending if its a 30 minute show or hour long program. This way I can just skip over the commercials

Oh Sports is always LIVE. Unless I really cant watch it live them ill DVR and try my best to avoid spoilers
