I just saw an interview with the writers where they said that now that they have this new timeline, they don't have to bring back anymore of the original series people. Which I think is best. Leave well enough alone. Go in a new direction.

Default Khan

A way to have Khan in the sequel is to re-do the space seed episode, where the Enterprise encounters a ship full of engineered humans led by Khan and they attempt to take control of enterprise.

One of a few movies that's worth seeing in theaters, audio was superb.
Will really shine when released on blu-ray with lossless audio(reference quality 5 out of 5)

Any sequel should be fresh and not try to go back retelling previous stories. It's okay to have Klingons but I would prefer to see something new (and please, no Borg). Abrams needs to find some of the best sci-fi writers out there -- not Hollywood screen writers who know nothing about sci-fi or Star Trek, or white collar by-the-formula guys who live by focus groups and think that success is gained through appeal to the teenage market. The story should be a great sci-fi story in the Star Trek universe. Also, action is good, but not at the expense of the character development of Kirk, Spock, Bones and the others.

The sequel need to be a new story. Don't have to be Khan. Don't even bring in the Borg. Need to be something mysterious and the adversary need to be powerful. I want to see fleet battles with multiple ships fighting in an armada.

The story could possibly involve a rogue Starfleet officer that allied himself with some anti-Federation race. The rogue Starfleet officer could be recently disgraced thus he would know a lot of Starfleet's strengths and weaknesses. This would pose a major problem because it would force the Enterprise crew and the rest of Starfleet to outthink and outmaneuver one of their own. This was what made Khan interesting. Khan was intelligent but not experienced. He was defeated because Kirk and Spock knew something that Khan didn't. To defeat the rogue Starfleet officer and his ally, Starfleet would have to throw out their own manuals and come up with new counter measures. Kirk is very well know for coming up with unorthodox strategies.

For any kind of story to be interesting, the good guys must stand to lose and possibly lose big. This would make their victory more satisfying. With a mysterious adversary, we will have to go along for the ride and learn about them. There would not be any preconceive notions to ruin the experience of watching the movie.

Go where no movie franchise as gone before and come up with some original ideals..
New time line was created for the movie stay with that, you can have alot of new ideals while just scratching the old time line.

I would personally like to see the Borg introduce into this time line ASAP.
Ya the borg are an original idea

I don't think I could see Shatner as Kirk again.

He hardly resembles Kirk from Star Trek 6, and now at 78 years old and about 30lbs over weight, I don't think make up and exercise will make much difference.

Using ambasidor spock they could have personal video logs with him and shatner

but that'd be a cruch and the new timeline should proceed unabated.

Nero messed with the klingons in this movie so they should be really mad but not

quite the klingons of shatners timeline. Andorians, cardasians so many places to

chart anew.

R.I.P old timeline they rebooted for a reason it worked so let them continue

the new story without the baggage of the past.

Don't care who the villain is, I just want the next film to deal with an ORIGINAL story. No Kahn, Borg, Romulins, Probes etc. New villain for the film. Plenty from the shows to choose from.

Plus a space battle with a few hundred ships like in the Dominion wars.

SHATNER is Kirk and all who portray him are pretenders to the thrown, but please do not bring him back. Voice over or logs are good.

That would be bad ass if they got with George Lucas and had a Star Trek vs Star Wars movie... Talk about a blockbuster hit that would be.
