I picked up this beaut last night at 12:01am I played it till 2am and it is very awesome. The animations are smoother, the replay is fixed and the knockouts are still fun as hell! I created a fighter which takes up to a half hour or more depending on if you are really going to be picky about where you put your attribute points as there are about 20 different skills you can place them in. I started a career mode and finished 5 fights with a record of 5-0-0 so far (Trying to get that undefeated trophy! I ended up with a Bronze (Gassed state knockout) and a Silver (Win by KO without using any grappling moves against a COM UFC Fighter Exhibition or Career Mode.) That was about the extent of my playing from last night since I had work 4 hours later. So I didn't get too much sleep but you guys should be aware that this game if alittle tweaked from the demo not too much but enough and the game thus far is very awesome. Career mode also challenged you to train your fighter right between fights, which sometimes gets tricky. But to all those out there that are picking this up my PSN: LifeOfAPirate if you are going to be online I will see you in the Octagon!

I'll post some more info once I play a few more hours. My friend claims the PS3 controller is not as responsive as the 360 controller when your on the ground. I do see what he means but I think the PS3 positovely affects that aspect cause when I was playing my buddy on the 360 he got up from the ground in .02 seconds everytime he cant do that on the PS3 version. I'm just throwing that out there I own the PS3 version and you all know I'm a dedicated PS3er and this isn't meant to flame the PS3.

Just a quick question, I was wondering if you can defend the title in exhibition mode against your friend.

Yeah, exactly. That way I could create my own pay-per-view events.

is there a sense from playing as many matches as you have that the game is too, how do i word this, knock out oriented? i played the demo under different difficulty settings and got this feeling. i know the fans and such love seeing brutal knockouts but i would love to see other aspects of MMA displayed. did you outpoint your opponents or submit them? is there such thing as a no contest in this game. or is all your wins by way of knockout?

and yes in the demo i played with rua under the hardest difficulty. pretty much took down liddell every chance i got and tried to out point him on the ground. i only took it to a decision once, the rest of the times i got knocked out by liddells brutal punches.

At first it seems like it is too knockout friendly, but once your skills and defence become good enough that all disappears. head shots are actually hard to get against a good opponent and you tend to use leg and body kicks / punches.

Submittions are also a challenge to pull off at first, but once you get the timings right on when to apply them it becomes much more fluent.

Overall this game is an excellent representation of MMA and I love it.

Could you help me out with the Submissions if you have indeed figured it out, because I am hopeless with it. Whenever I go into an attempt, I press Square, Triangle, X, and Circle just like the tutural shows but they always get out of it. Do you just press that combination once in order, or do you continue to tap that combination really fast? I also tried to rotate the R Analog like they also showed doing but that was no better. After hundreds of fights I have done 2 submissions, and it is pretty frustrating when you are BJ Penn and you have somebodies back and they still get out of it.....yeah that is going to happen.

use the R analog stick, try to spin it in PERFECT circles at a decent speed, not too fast not too slow. Also wait until the opponent fatigues himself a little bit. let him throw a few jabs/leg kicks or whatever. While he does this make your way in to clinch. Pull guard then switch it too the rubber guard. Tap the R stick to initiate the triangle choke and watch them tap. Works like a charm. That and the kimora from side control I would say are the most effeciant subs in my opinion.

Man I'm loving this game. The only thing I've found really frustrating is the classic matches where you have to defeat your opponent EXACTLY as it happened, ie method of defeat, round number. I usually end up getting an early knockout completely on accident. Other than that, I am LOVING this game!
