Someone once asked me what films I want to see on 4K UHD. I stared 'im in the eyes and said "every film you hate."

That's the spirit. Buy this man a case of his favorite whiskey, on me!

I really enjoy reading 4 pages of posts with everyone whining on and on about how lousy a blu ray's encode is, how the boutique sucks for serving out such a daft product, and how shoddy the master looks (often very legitimate observations most times), and then when a 4k finally rolls out, or someone mentions a hopeful new upgrade of the naff disc in future, they whine even more, and go "....meh...sticking with that shyte blu ray." It's so cool to buy $5,000 a year worth of standard 1080p blu rays with shemp transfers instead of forking out $300 once for a 4k player. Bucking the trend is so cool, it's the new trendy. It's not even about having the funds, or not. It's about appreciating the fact that every film deserves to have its day and get one final shot at looking its best, especially if it's been botched on the prior format.

I look at it this way, if the Blu has a good 2K or 4K scan, i'm not rebuying that title again just to have it on a 4K disc. The exception obviously would be my favorites, not everything in my collection. It gets old rebuying these films over and over again on the same and new formats for the past 30-40 years. At some point you have to say enough is enough.

Agreed all the way, especially with the last one. Personally, I love this movie and at the moment I own Arrow's limited 3-disc 'nasty edition' and Scorpion Releasing from it. Even though, after Arrow, it was the very last time I spend my money on it. Absolutely no need for upgrade, what so ever, if it ever comes to available on higher resolution in near future.

But... did you see it in the drive-in when it first came out? I did.

On a double bill with "The Exterminator"! Circa 1981.

Loved both of those ever since.

This one, 'Don't Go in the House', is a nearly every year October ritual for me. Just has that cold, late Autumnal feel to it, perfect for Halloween time.

I'll often do the 'Exterminator' double bill, just to recreate that classic experience. I need to find a way to project them and watch them sitting in the car, LOL.

Just bought the 2-Disc Arrow release for $20. As much as it annoys me to not have the 35mm presentation, perfect audio and subtitles are a bigger concern to me.

Does anyone know anything about the French release from The Ecstasy of Films that came out in January with 2 cover variants? Port of the Severin release, I presume?

Was visiting my brother and sister in law in NJ and stopped by the house from Don't Go in the House.
