It might be only HD because Compass still has the digital rights. I was actually surprised they included a digital copy with the steelbook. They may have worked out a deal to include one.

I did notice the goodfellas steelbook start to say in stock at some locations near by me, so that gives me hope that these will show back up soon (instead of resorting to scalpers online....)

I got mine in the mail yesterday. I love the slip cover that came with the steel book. Absolutely beautiful piece. Should I wait to redeem code when they push out the 4k version or just go ahead and redeem?

The back cover of the German UHD shows it includes an English "Mono" 2.0 lossy track, but whether or not it's the original Mono or simply a downmix I don't know for sure.

If I want to get either 4K or BD and have the original mono soundtrack (not a down mix) what are my best options?

My understanding is that the 15-Disc Complete Collection has the original mono in TrueHD (lossless) and that is the only place the mono mix can be found in lossless, is that correct?

Are there any discs that are still in production that have the original mono mix in lossy?

The Halloween disc included in both the 10-Disc and 15-Disc box sets from Scream Factory was, as far as I know, the only way to get the original mono mix in lossless. The Blu-ray included with the 4K disc is the original 2007 Blu-ray from Anchor Bay, and it had the original mono mix in lossy.

Oh that's wonderful to hear! So if I track down that 10-Disc set, the H78 disc has TrueHD Mono huh?

I guess it's the 35th Anniversary version (which I prefer, frankly)?

Yes, it's the 35th Anniversary Edition but with the original mono mix in TrueHD. The 10 discs in the standard edition are the same discs included in the 15-Disc delux edition.

The Spanish BD also had the lossless mono mix included as it's a dupe of the Shout boxset release.

Reportedly the German UHD has the original mono. But check before you buy.

It also has German title cards (which is what put me off).

I wish there was the option to listen to the isolated score in either mono or 7.1, or better yet, release it on CD/digital. There’s never been a proper release of the soundtrack that is both faithful to the music heard in the film and that has a good mix.

They definitely need to redo a vinyl release without all that added dialogue and screaming, it’s awful.

If memory serves me correctly, the Criterion Collection Laserdisc had isolated music score as an option.
